Funny. I was thinking the same thing when I began reading this. They should just put some ice on it and shut UP.

They are probably counting on the demos getting in office again so the next bail out won't need a 9/11 - although I believe they were already in trouble before that day.

I just rewatched the scene at ABC http://pathto911.abc.com/index.html
(they've posted the movie online)
and it said "Selected Passenger Ensure-Hold baggage to be screened CAPPS warning" on the computer in the scene. I did an internet search and found this info at DHS.

I wonder if AA contributed to heavily to Al Gore's presidential campaign after his commission relaxed security measures. Many airlines did.

AA should consider themselves very lucky they weren't sued into bankruptcy because of their criminal negligence on 9/11 at Logan.
American followed the established security procedures at the time. The weapons the terrorists used were perfectly legal under FAA rules. Let me guess, you also think Boeing should be sued for Sept. 11th?

The fact of the matter is, the security at Logan Airport was abysmal for a long time, and it was noneother than Senator John F'in Kerry who knew about it, had been contacted by two former FAA security officials who offered to fly to Washington and testify on their own dime, but because they were not "constituents", they were told to basically get lost and stop bothering the good Senator.

Did any airline miss the warning? If so, was is AA? I've folks on the thread state it wasn't AA and others indicate it was AA.

American Airlines didn't pay the victims' families: WE the US taxpayers did for the most part of the average $2.1 million award they received (one raised cain and actually got $7.1 million) came straight from the Federal Treasury (i.e., you, me and the taxpayers behind the tree).

My, there sure are a lot of knee-jerk reactionaries on this thread.

Major corporations always donate to both political parties. AA is no exception. It just makes good business sense.

AA did NOT accept the bulk of the bail-out money that was available to them, like their competitors did or tried to. Contrary to popular know-nothing belief, most of the bail-out money was only in the form of loans. AA did not partake of the loans.

If AA is run so stupidly, just how have the managed to stay out of bankruptcy? Would you like it better if that had filed, and then shed their defined pension plans (at taxpayers expense), like so many of the other legacy carriers have? That would have been the easy way out. AA is making money now, and is well on the way to a full recovery.

Southwest is free to fly out of DFW, and compete on a level playing field anytime they like. No, they want to lock in their monopoly at Love. If they want to play with the big dogs, let them act like one and move over to DFW.

I could go on, but I have a feeling it would go over the heads of many on this thread...

If it had not been for the victim's compensation panel, the liability would have taken 25 years to thread through the courts. With no airlines flying, because they wouldn't be able to buy insurance. AA sells you a ticket to take you to your destination, not scatter you in little pieces all over lower Manhattan. There was PLENTY of liability to go around for September 11, I'm just surprised that AA wants to wake up this sleeping dog again and poke it with a stick!

I am not sure but what seems to be the case is that all these guys were known but never hauled in due to our legal system.
