Nonaligned Want Terrorism Redefined

HAVANA -- Iran, Syria, North Korea and more than 100 other nations are pushing to broaden the world's definition of "terrorism" to include the U.S. occupation of Iraq and the Israeli invasion of Lebanon.

Converging on Fidel Castro's communist Cuba for a summit this week, members of the Nonaligned Movement complain of a double standard: powerful nations like the United States and Israel decide for the world who the terrorists are, but face no punishment for their own acts of aggression.

A draft of the group's joint declaration condemns "terrorism in all its forms," especially violence that targets civilians.

Terrorism should not be associated with any religion or nationality, says the draft. It singles out a favored phrase of President Bush in declaring that member countries "totally reject the use of the term 'axis of evil' by a certain state to target other states under the pretext of combating terrorism."

A Cuban official said sarcastically on Tuesday that the U.S. could one day accuse the entire Nonaligned Movement of supporting terrorism.

Who are they nonaligned from? There is only one superpower left. All you have to do is take a look at Cuba to figure out who it is.

Bush coimned a terrible term when he called it "War on Terror", instead of a war against Islamic zealots, or islamofascists.

Only recently has he been trying to correct hisself. A buit late.

Its amazing that our left hate the idea of identifying the enemy.

Given the names attending this meeting, an errant cruise missle or 2000 pound JDAM might not be such a bad thing.

The UN is a useless entity and should be disbanded immediately.

Its amazing that our left hate the idea of identifying the enemy.

It's quite simple, actually. They see America as the enemy, the evil power. Muslims are just poor, oppressed people fighting for their civil rights.

[Al Qaida] They target civilians, they lack the cause and the justification, they don't distinguish among anyone — they're even attacking us Muslims

It's OK with me.

They can define terrorism as anything the US or Israel does...
and I'll redefine the WOT as the War Against Savages & Trash Eating Maggots.

Ok, here is how it works boys... when we are discussing you and the terms we use to describe you; you terrorists do not get a say in framing our definitions.

OK, from now on, all, all non-alinged nations will not get one red cent from the American taxpayer. OK, let us all now realize that none of the pols in DC would agree with that and yet, would it not be great to just put a knife into those 100 one party dictatorships that call themselves, non-alinged.

100: most are tinpot African dictatorships, Arab failed states, and Chavez-style banana republics from Latin America. The most economically successful nations are from Southeast Asia, which include even American-friendly nations like the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore.
