NEW YORK - Has Barbara Walters lost it?

Some of her co-hosts on “The View” may think so after her claim today about her Havanese dog Cha-Cha.

Walters says when she told Cha-Cha she loved her, Cha-Cha said “I love you” back.

I don't know if it qualifies for doggie ping, but I had to look up Havanese on wiki to see what sort of dog it is.

It's an adorable Bichon type dog.

Did she buy one of those Japanese devices that translate dog barking into Japanese?

I do have a friend who taught her dog to say something that almost sounded like "I love you"

Ping!

Wa Wa says Cha Cha says I wuv u.

I think we have to challenge the dog's taste.

I've seen some scenes on Worlds Funniest Videos showing dogs and cats repeating simple words. I wuv oo might be within Cha Cha's range.

But gee whiz, my parakeet can talk pretty plainly and he ain't restricted to simple words.

The dog speaks too intelligently for that dingbat to understand.

I truly did see a dog, on the Johnny Carson show, that talked. At least he said "hello". It so astonished Johnny that he fell over backwards, chair and all. It was pretty funny. And the dog did have an accent, his hello sounded like "how-ohhh".

You mean she didn't ask Cha-Cha, "if you were to pee on a tree, what kind of tree would you pee on?"

I can't believe I was actually watching this fiasco when she said this !! BUT...that is not the worst!

Rosie O'D, the new hostette, told the story of her dog. It seems that she read in the new VOGUE about Brad Pitt mentioning that the new baby had a diaper rash, and he didn't know how to get rid of it. She said she faced this with some of her 4 children. She asked her Pediatrician what to do, and he asked her if she had a dog.

She did.

So he said take the diaper off the child, and LET THE DOG LICK THE CHILD AND WITH THE HEALING SALIVA IN THE MOUTH OF A DOG, IT WILL CLEAR UP THE RASH. !!!!!

She honestly SAID THAT ! omg! and Ba Ba KNEW that the media would use that ! So I am waiting for Leno or Letterman to mention it. Gross huh ?

LOL...I think you're right. I just hope Wa Wa leaves a paper on the floor with a picture of Clinton on it for Cha Cha to do his business on.
