According to the research done by Kopple and the Chicks themselves, the Free Republic sent out form letters to their 30,000-thick subscription list with market-specific information, saying if the station did not stop playing their music, people would cease listening to the station.We did? When did we do that?

they have got to have someone/something to blame their demise on...can't possibly be just plainly because people don't want to hear their punditry..just thedir singing. And now they have tarnished that beyond anything that someone would pay for.
I guess instead of counting sheep to sleep at night, they are prolly counting million$$$$$$ jumping over the fence and running away.
