"Howard Beale on LSD reading Rolling Stone straight to camera, with a Texas accent"" Sounds like the same ol' Rather, same ol', to me. Doesn't he have any other characters in him?

I was saying the other day that she needs a sidekick... But a stab in the back will do.

sort of a "Howard Beale on LSD reading Rolling Stone straight to camera, with a Texas accent" concept.

Geez if this is true my estimates of her being gone in 18 months were WAY WAY too generous... Would they ditch all that cash this early?
To: MindBender26
I'll bet everyone tunes in to see her long face on the day after the mid-term elections.

sort of a "Howard Beale on LSD reading Rolling Stone straight to camera. . . ." Rather must be stealing that from Olbermann:

Sure, some people are going to watch us/her now, but can you imagine anyone having a choice between us and Charlie Gibson on ABC going with us if/when there is another terrorist attack? They are just figuring that out NOW? Somebody at the top needs to be fired for this. Not that I care, but it's hard to have respect for a group that thought Katie Couric would command the respect of an audience when they are looking for hard news.
So, who would truly command respect amongst the current crop of journalists? Who would the average american listen to and trust? Is there anybody out there who could cut across the ideological divide and be seen as fair by both sides?

They Are Stabbing Me In The Back.

Qaty al-Khouriq stabbed in the back? That's some damn fine irony there.

I don't think CBS needs to hang her here. All they need to do is provide her a piece of rope and a camera every night, she'll do the rest.

Yep, that's what some say . . .

Maybe Katie's beloved Saddam still watches her dismal show.
Didn't she say on her old show, "Thankfully, Saddam escaped to Syria", not long after our troops invaded Baghdad? Clearly, she sides with the enemy all the time.
Katie, I look forward to the GLOAT-fest when your show tanks completely. BUB-BYE.

Thanks for the reports from Black Rock.
The only thing that would shock me is if CBS actually accepted that liberal journalists won't help ratings.
However, they are probably looking at Olberman or Chris Matthews as replacements...and would never think of Brit Hume.
Once she's gone, how long before the excuse is "America is apparantly not ready for a woman anchor."
