Strong disagreement about the state of the state and what to do about it, punctuated by flashes of humor and sharp exchanges, distinguished the first post-primary debate Thursday between the three major party gubernatorial candidates.
Deteriorating road conditions, rising health-care and tuition costs, and unsatisfactory school performance were blamed on Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty by DFL Attorney General Mike Hatch and Independence Party candidate Peter Hutchinson.

My mom saw it and she said Peter Hutchinson (IP) was very sharp and that Hatch looked and acted robotic.
Pawlenty and Hatch definitely do not like one another at all. Hatch realizes this is his last chance at getting elected Governor and he will go all-out to win. He won't care what he has to say or do.
Comments or opinions - anyone?
Sounds like Jesse the body all over again!
Welcome to the inaugural first post Free republic Minnesota PING List!
Let me know if you want on or off!
I heard part of it on the radio. Hutchinson got after Pawlenty pretty aggressively; much more than Hatch seemed to. The commentator compared it to the way Ventura ran his race.
And thanks for the list!
Unfortunately, I missed the debate.
The Red Star article doesn't bode well for Hatch, if this is any indication. It sounds like Hutchinson is Dane's darling this election season. I don't think his idea to raise gas taxes will play well considering the recent prices at the pump.
There's lots of time between now and November 7th.
Thanks for the ping MplsSteve.
Don't mess with Tim.
Okay. I just saw a snippet of the debate, my husband's got the KARE bears on. Pretty much a rehash of the Red Star article.
Now, this is a very shallow comment, I'll admit.
Who in the world told the Governor to grow those verrrry long sideburns? I lived through the 70's, don't need to see that again. LOL
