I have no sympathy whatsoever with Bob Ney. Nor do I have any sympathy with any legislator, regardless of his party affiliation, who takes money from organized gambling interests. I have been a loyal Republican and a dedicated Conservative all of my adult life and I will continue to remain so. But I am frankly disgusted that legislators of my party took money from gambling interests. Not only was it corrupt, it was downright stupid. They let the wolf right in the front door and now he's eating the children.

And I also want to see all the Democrats who had their hands in the gambling till brought up on charges as well.

I honestly haven't been following anything Abrahmoff. But I do know there were some Dems involved. Why only Reps being prosecuted?

We only know that Dems received campaign donations. Those are legal. Ney and DeLay received bribes. Those are not legal. Since Republicans received bribes, they will be prosecuted.

Eventually we may learn that the Dems received bribes, too. At this point, we don't know that. And I've been following the Abramoff scandal quite closely.

And of course no mention at all of the DEMOCRAT politicians involved in this scam, including Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.

Do you have info that Reid accepted bribes? I've been following this case quite closely and haven't determined that. I do know, however, that the Feds are looking closely at Reid. I'd be first in line to nail Reid if I were convinced he were guilty.

I doubt Delay is in jeopardy from this.

According to the article, Ney accepted $34,000 in bribes. We know that DeLay's family accepted $500,000. DeLay is in serious jeopardy.

To put it bluntly, DeLay seemed to know what the line was and never crossed it, it was Abramoff who was doing all of the money shuffling and putting up the false fronts. In retrospect, it should have been clear that Abramoff was slimy, but otherwise, DeLay's guilt is apparently in knowing Abramoff's name

OMG! ! !

DeLay is ten times more guilty. The bribes DeLay accepted were ten times greater than the bribes Ney accepted.

U.S. Family Network. Look it up.

US Family Network. Very good start. But don't stop there! Look up Alexander Strategy Group, too!

When I said going down, it was in the context of the Ney article, political defeat is just a side effect in the case of the Montana senator. I hope I am wrong but I think I'm right on this.

If only he'd been nailing interns instead of going for the cash, he'd never have to do any time.
