I have been having trouble with my McAfee. And I have to uninstall and re-install. Someone out there with FIREFOX let me know what you think. The positives and the negatives if you would please?

Whatever Camino is, is it from the same source as Firefox?

If your Firefox doesn't auto-update, click on Help and select "Check for Updates" from the menu to get the new version.

Firefox is a web browser. I'm not sure what that has to do with McAfee.

Don't think so. Here's how they describe it:"Camino combines the awesome visual and behavioral experience that has been central to the Macintosh philosophy with the powerful web-browsing capabilities of the Gecko rendering engine. Built and tested by thousands of volunteers, Mozilla’s Gecko brings cutting-edge innovations and capabilities to users in a standards-friendly and socially responsible form."

All I know is I like the way it works!

I just wish Firefox would fix its disappearing right vertical slider bar. That has been a persistent problem since around release 0.7. They still can't seem to fix it.

I have been using Firefox for quite a while now but for some reason in the last month it started refusing to open (it freezes after the screen appears but before it connects to my homepage). I just downloaded the new release, hoping that might solve the problem. It didn't.

Does anyone have any idea why Firefox would be unable to connect? I hate having to use IE again.

I have been having trouble with my McAfee.

You may want to take a look at these free anti-virus programs:

AVG

Avast!

You'll find many fans of AVG here at Free Republic. I personally use Avast!, and have no complaints.

Firewall issue, maybe? Did you make sure Firefox is able to access the Internet through it?

I do use Kaspersky anti-hacker/virus/spam but I can't find where it is blocking Firefox. I will try again.

For what its worth, Kaspersky is fanatical at keeping the system safe and that is probably the source of the problem.

Thx for your help!
