Did I hear correctly that Manchurian Candidate was banned and not shown for over twenty years.
Wish I heard more facts.

Too bad. Some of us here have already awarded the nod to Mitt Romney, so we'll need a ballsy, common sense southerner on the ticket.

I agree. "Some" say Haley isn't pretty enough, "others" say his Southern accent is too heavy, and his wife says "NO," to any mention of his running.

At last check, McCain was our state's most popular politician. Not according to me, and probably not after this GC dust-up. Many more Dems here now, however, they'll all breaking out of California.

LOL. His bride may be the most formidable force against enlisting Gov. Barbour.

Manchurian Candidate banned? No.
But did it sit on the studio shelf without being rereleased for TV or video for 30 years? Yes, absolutely.
It was the ultimate sin for a film maker in the late 50s early 60s. It was pro America and anti-Communist. It must be ignored. The powers that were spoke and thus it was carried out... until they realized they could make a profit from it, of course...

I'm afraid that's the truth. She never moved to Washington, D.C. with him. She elected to stay home in Mississippi when he was RNC chairman and also while he worked in a law firm in D.C.

Some" say Haley isn't pretty enough, "others" say his Southern accent is too heavy,I'm not from the south and that's what I love about him. It's funny that once a southern drawl implied "uneducated" but now it seems to imply "real". It does the way Haley speaks it, anyway.

*Smiling* thank you for saying that --- as a matter of fact, I could listen to Haley speak all day long and never get bored.

I hold my nose when I vote for Shelby. The Democrat convert ran a despicable race against Jeremiah Denton, a real American hero, and I for one will never forgive nor forget.

I have to vote for Tom Kean's son so I feel your pain.

only see one problem with a match-up that pitts Romney against Hillary. Bogus as she is she still would have far more in the way of name recognition. That's pretty irrelevant once the party nominees have been chosen. Who knew who GW Bush was in 1998 compared to how many people knew who Al Gore was?
To: Bahbah
She got a taste of ugly politics during the governor's race. I think she decided that national politics would be even uglier.
