Pope Benedict caved.I am too am very disappointed.

I am very disappointed also. Mostly because I see hundreds of people reacting to what the Pope supposedly said, which is based on reports by newscasters, who have distilled interpretations, supplied to them by translators.

There are three opportunities for other agendas than the Pope's to come into play. And this is to say nothing of unintended mistakes that could have been caused by thoughtless errors in conveying the information.

For example,I am sure you have an extra "am" in one of your short sentences.

I'm an agnostic but respect him nonetheless for standing upto what he believes in ... this sure has shaken one's faith and would have disappointed millions of his followers that the Pope cannot stand by his words. ( though I would say he has saved a few thousand christian lives in Muslim majority countries where christian are hostages ). Only points clearly that muslims are today more powerfull than christians despite western technology and is a wake up call for everyone. The cancer is spreading ... they are there at you doorsteps and are not just the "continent's problem" which Nazism once was.
