REPUBLICAN FUND RAISER

Posted on 09/18/2006 4:27:27 AM PDT by 7thson

A personal thread here. I went to a Republican fundraiser this past weekend. It was a wine tasting and auction type deal. Had a good time. I bid on and won a framed picture of President Bush. Below his picture is a quote concerning the WOT from his 2003 SOTU. Below that were five pins representing the Navy, Army, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. And below that is the great quote by John Stuart Mill that begins with "War is an ugly thing..." I will take a picture of it and than ask one of the more astute IT members of FR to help me get it posted. We raised a little over 5 grand. Got to meet some of the candidates running for County Commissioner. Met Ron "The Right" Miller who is running against Mike Miller. Any Freeper living in Southern Maryland needs to vote for Ron "The Right" Miller.

I got push-polled by the Menendez Campaign over the weekend. You know that when the question is "Does the fact that Tom Kean Jr. has supported President Bush's unfair tax cuts that provide tax breaks to the wealthy and corporate special interests, but provide nothing for the working middle class, make you less likely to vote for him in November", the poll cannot be run by a legitimate outfit like Gallup or NBC/CNN.

Then again, maybe not...

Anyway, for the last ten questions, my answer was that in spite of the outrageously biased way the question was phrased, Tom Kean Jr.'s support of President Bush's policies (taxes, WOT, Iraq, Social Security Privitization, etc.), makes me more likely to vote for him.

At least I wasted their time and had a little fun.
