DRUDGE HEADLINE: The Pope must die, says Muslim
Drudge/ThisIsLondon ^ | 9/18/2006 | ThisIsLondon

Posted on 09/18/2006 3:28:06 PM PDT by tcrlaf

A notorious Muslim extremist told a demonstration in London yesterday that the Pope should face execution.

Anjem Choudary said those who insulted Islam would be "subject to capital punishment".

His remarks came during a protest outside Westminster Cathedral on a day that worldwide anger among Muslim hardliners towards Pope Benedict XVI appeared to deepen.

The pontiff yesterday apologised for causing offence during a lecture last week. Quoting a medieval emperor, his words were taken to mean that he called the prophet Mohammed "evil and inhuman".

He insisted he was "deeply sorry" but his humbling words did not go far enough to silence all his critics or quell the violence and anger he has triggered.

A nun was shot dead in Somalia by Islamic gunmen and churches came under attack in Palestine.

Choudary's appeal for the death of Pope Benedict was the second time he has been linked with apparent incitement to murder within a year.

The 39-year-old lawyer organised demonstrations against the publication of cartoons of Mohammed in February in Denmark. Protesters carried placards declaring "Behead Those Who Insult Islam".

Yesterday he said: "The Muslims take their religion very seriously and non-Muslims must appreciate that and that must also understand that there may be serious consequences if you insult Islam and the prophet.

"Whoever insults the message of Mohammed is going to be subject to capital punishment."

He added: "I am here have a peaceful demonstration. But there may be people in Italy or other parts of the world who would carry that out.

"I think that warning needs to be understood by all people who want to insult Islam and want to insult the prophet of Islam."

Rosie O'Donell is that you? What an equivocating, cliche-ridden, self-contradicting, sophomoric post that was. You say "two great religions" and then you say their leaders are "full of shit" and their followers are "chumps." You can't even commit yourself to any coherence. Pathetic.

The age of "reason" gave us the French Revolution and the Bolshevik butchery and the Mao butchery. "Reason" without the one true God is the plaything of the latest technocrat.

The Japanese imperialists started pushing the U.S. around in China in 1937 and it took four years of increasing crap until Americans found the resolve to fight back, and fight back hard!

Evidently we are slower on the uptake than our grandfathers.

I long ago got fed up with these intolerant cultists;let them bow down to a broken chunk of rock,as long as they leave others to their own choices I would leave them alone.
But since their cult demands the world world follow them into error,I say thee NAY!

Let him who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.

A sad and poignant blurb on the bottom scroll of the FOXNEWS screen:

'The murdered nun forgave her killer before she died.'

And there's the difference here. I wonder, is the word "forgiveness" even mentioned anywhere in the Koran?

I don't think Islam should be referred to as religion anymore. It doesn't deserve satus or protection along the same lines as Christianity, Judaism, etc. It's like referring to street gang membership as a religion. Would we refer to the Ku Klux Klan as a "religion"? I keep hearing about the moderate muslims. Where are they? And how can anyone who follows the mentality of Islam be moderate when the teachings of its leader are so violent?

Still, it's amazing how ordinary men of both cultures can throw on a fancy robe, look to the sky with a tear in their eye (for effect) and get so many chumps to follow them in the name of God.

Relatively few Christians "follow" any men as you term it. We follow Christ and we listen to the opinions of Christian leaders - but we don't follow them unconditionally like the muzzies do. We listen, discern, test, discuss, etc. That's not happening in the muzzie world. Don't lump us in with the totalitarians please.

It is either a false religion with a false prophet and God, or it is a hijacked religion. I'd love to see evidence to the contrary of my opinion.

I offer evidence in support of your opinion. -> Link

This guy is a lawyer, so I presume he is educated. Let me rephrase that - I presume he has been to school.

Vatican officials insisted he meant no disrespect to Muslims and that the quotation was taken out of context. But the defence failed to mute Muslim anger."

Far too few observers understand that this statement did not offend moslems. In fact, it was welcomed by them because it gave them a chance to engage once more in their psychological jihad of intimidation. None of these frothing filthy dogs are "angry" in the usual human sense of the term. They are delighted to have a chance to force the leading figure of Christendom to bow down in submission before them. They got George Bush to bow down when they pretended to wet themselves over "Operation Infinite Justice." They castrated the posers and pansies of the Western press over a bunch of ridiculous cartoons. And I will be interested to see if the Pope bows down before the illiterate pagan savages before this is over.

Kukecinich kept saying "we need to TALK to Them!!!!"

How many times does it need to be explained to you that when libs suggest that we talk/negotiate with muzzies, it's not because they have some underlying belief in their rationality. To the contrary, anyone who suggest reconcilation/cooperation with muzzies is merely uttering code words to cover their real objective: defeat of liberal democtratic capitalism.

Muzzies are merely the enemy of their enemy; they will ally themselves with anyone who helps defeat Western civ. One standard technique is to discredit/cast doubt on western accomplishments ie PC. A key attribute of that strategy is to elevate the status "victims" so that we "understand" the root causes of their "anger".

Recognize the enemy for what it is: PC is the tip off.

I was concerned that the catholic church would appoint someone as old as this man to be pope.

Now, I understand why. He is a brilliant scholar with a still very active mind and he sees the world as it is today, not as he wishes it to be today.

He may be the Man for the Times. I wish him long life!

"A nun was shot dead in Somalia by Islamic gunmen and churches came under attack in Palestine."

Wonder what would happen if say an Islamic Cleric was shot and one of their Shrines came under attack by any western source?
