Tamil Tigers deny Muslim massacre

Colombo (dpa) - Eleven Muslim civilians were hacked to death with swords in eastern Sri Lanka, military officials said Monday, adding that they suspected Tamil rebels were behind the attack.

However, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) denied it was responsible and blamed government troops for the massacre. The military has a long tradition of blaming the separatist rebels for its own atrocities, the LTTE charged.

The victims were employed to repair a dam in an irrigation canal in Panama, Potuvil, 340 kilometres east of Colombo, when they were abducted, military officials said.

The men had gone missing on Sunday and the bodies were found Monday, apparently hacked with machetes.

Who says they were innocent? Perhaps they were terrorists plotting and planning? Found out and had justice administered. We have no idea what occurred and how anyone can speculate with any degree of certainty is beyond me.

Who kills innocent people in the name of religious ideology? Is it irrational to see what is obvious and to say that it is Muslims who are killing innocent people in the name of their ideology? I say the same thing about communists and fascists and indeed would say the same about the followers of any ideology that requires it's adherents to kill or convert by force non believers.

Muslims are evil because of the ideology they espouse. It isn't bigoted to say so because it is irrefutably the truth. You are probably very proud of your tolerance, but let me ask you. What will happen if you tolerate those who do not tolerate you? The answer is you will either convert to Islam or die.

In this case someone killed them. Both the government and LTTE deny killing them so saying exactly who is responsible isn't something we can do. If you ask who is killing others the world over, the answer is Muslims.

I am not defending LTTE. They are murdering scum too, however you can't expect me to worry too much about them as they seem mainly intent on murdering Sinhalese and the Sinhalese are not exactly saints in that fight either. I for one stay out of fights that don't concern me.
