I understand that you have a lot riding on this like you had a lot riding on the Cannon election. I hope it works out for you.

"I just hate to see the republican party waste a bunch of money when there are so many other elections to better spend the money."

Like Lincoln Chafee?

Who do you think is closer to the center of the political subdivision that he represents, Chafee or Graf?

How much money did they give him?

"Graf returns having raised more than $20,000 to take on Democrat Gabrielle Giffords, with another $100,000 pledged, his campaign says."

Probably Chafee. But I want, and expect, the national GOP to support conservatives like Randy Graf, over leftist republicans, like Lincoln Chafee.

I live here. And, no, we are not Rhode Island and Chafee is not closer to anything here. This district has a Republican majority and, while somewhat moderate, it still leans relatively conservative compared to places like Rhode Island and the rest of the north east.

You don't know Randy at all. He does not spit at, cuss at, or demean anyone. He is a very polite, savvy person. He was the Majority Whip in the state legislature. He is principled, with a lot of integrity.

I don't know what your beef is with Randy. You are one sick puppy.

You can go out with Spiff and Graf. After Spiff spits on the moderates, you can call them sick puppies. That should convince them to vote for Graf.

The zealots are a detriment to Graf's election.

Source: Congressional Quarterly [scroll to bottom of article]

On the race in Arizona’s 8th District, where the NRCC-backed candidate in the Sept. 12 Republican primary, state Rep. Steve Huffman, lost to strongly conservative GOP activist Randy Graf, a former state House member who is running against Democratic former state Sen. Gabrielle Giffords for the seat of retiring Republican Rep. Jim Kolbe :

Reynolds: “We made a decision — we were in there with issue advocacy. ... [Graf] was here last week; I sat down with him. The NRCC has given him a check. TOMPAC, my leadership PAC, has given him a $5,000 check, which is the maximum I can give him. And you will see that we are there with IE [independent expenditures] right now as we speak.”

She called YOU a sick puppy. You turned around and accused her of calling moderates sick puppies. Therefore, you are admitting that you consider yourself a "moderate". Do you consider yourself a moderate or a conservative?

I have always been a moderate, what you and many others call a RINO.

Though you don't want to admit it, there are more moderates in Graf's district than there are extremists.

So, here we have a clear example of an admitted "moderate" - a liberal by any other definition - on this conservative forum bashing conservatives with impunity and working to undermine the election of a conservative Republican in Arizona's 8th Congressional District. But, we're all conservatives here. Right?

The reality is that Graf will have to get a lot of moderates and independents to vote for him.

As Graf tries to build bridges to the moderates, you and the other extremists will be trying to burn those bridges.

Again, you're talking garbage.

Consider the audience here. I am here on Free Republic, the PREMIERE gathering place on the Internet for conservatives dedicated to conservative discussions, promoting conservative candidates and supporting conservative causes. My audience HERE is far different than it is here in MY district. You do not have any idea how I appeal to people in this district when supporting my favorite conservative candidate. Yet, DL and I and others get attacked by you, an admitted "moderate" and "RINO", for advocating a conservative candidate to a conservative audience. This is just another example of your trollish behavior and how you pollute this conservative forum and serve as a constant obstacle to promoting conservatives and conservative causes here.

Graf will have no problem building bridges to moderates as he and his conservative supporters are not the "extremists" you want to pretend that they are. Anyone who has had to deal with your nonsense here for the past 8 years knows that you consider the terms "conservative" and "extremist" to be synonymous. I reject that notion as would most FReepers.

Either you're with us or you're against us. This forum is not a friendly little place for polite political chatting. It has a mission. It is committed to promoting conservatives and conservative causes. It is a mystery to me why you are permitted to continue to be an obstacle to that goal here. Get with the program or get lost.

Will you be supporting Kyl's, McCain's, or Graf's guest worker program?

You just can't stop yourself, can you.

It's an obsessive/compulsive mental disease.

I actually appreciate the fact that Ben is upfront about his political leanings, unlike many here on FR.If others would just admit that they were moderate rather than hijacking the conservative label, we could have much more honest and productive debates.
