Well, I hope so. Everywhere we look, there seem to be Muzzie separatists or insurgents or terrorists working overtime to wreak havoc. I hated to think Thailand was the next to go. Parts of that whole area, Phillipines, East Timor, Tamil, others, have felt the disruptions by these terrorists. In Africa, it's worse, with all out war by 'rebels'. It was the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard about tanks rolling through Bangkok. I hope that Sondhi can make it a lot harder for them.

"Friendship since WWII count for anything with you? They are a long term ally."

Don't waste your typing. There are folks here who know nothing about anything, and who are proud of that. They post idiocy just to see it in print.

"I wonder how this takeover will affect the famous Bangkok sex trade, if at all.....?"

Why do you wonder about that?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Two weeks seems fairly rapid. I hope he can keep it as a civilian run, 'free' society.

Yes, this is what they have been saying all along. One of the first statements after the coup made this very clear. Those staging the ouster of the PM have no intention of remaining in power.

He is worrying if it will destroy his vacation to Soi Cowboy or not. ;)
