In this case, they are worried about various individuals taking it upon themselves to go into BKK to stop the PM from being removed from power. If they do start flooding into BKK, they will be killed. There are roadblocks setup around the city checking people coming in. This is for the same reason.
When the United States liberated Iraq, they should have stopped the media, too, and instituted a lot of propaganda.
