September 20, 2006 -- In a showdown of ideologies at the United Nations yesterday, Iran's hard-line leader took to the podium eight hours after President Bush - and went on a nutty tirade, blaming the United States for the world's problems and arguing that Israel has no right to exist. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also used his long-awaited moment on the world stage to claim Third World nations should be given more power on the 15-nation U.N. Security Council, which he alleged was a rubber-stamp for U.S. and Israeli "aggression and occupation."
U.S. and Israeli delegates snubbed the speech by leaving the General Assembly even before he began his 32-minute rant.
Even as he faces worldwide condemnation for pursuing nuclear weapons, Ahmadinejad claimed it was countries that currently have nuclear weapons - such as the United States - that pose real danger to other nations.
Ahmadinejad called his country's atomic program "transparent" and said it was "under the watchful eyes of IAEA inspectors" - a reference to the U.N. nuclear watchdog.
He gave no indication of any willingness to comply with the United Nations' call to halt uranium enrichment.

Irans Mahmoud Ahmadinejad makes a mockery of the world bodys peace mission last night as he addresses the United Nations.
The irony that he was never in any danger while he went off the rails is lost on him.
Such a man isn't really ready for prime-time.
Off the Rails, way , way off.
" TEHRAN LUNATIC SPREADS HIS VILE POISON IN NYC "
(I checked -- this is the *actual* headline from the NYP website!)
Kinda wish the headline writer would stop holding back and say what he/she really feels..... ;~)
The other comment is that he's standing there making a mockery of the UN. This is still possible? I should think that the UN is now constitutionally self-parodying, so detached from any adult reality that they simply live in their alternate universe unaware of anyone else and uninterested to meeting them.
Our President is the one who put them in their place, something they would have reacted to, had there remained any remnant of sanity among them.
Somebody needs to cut this fool down to size. Hey, I know of a nurse out West who is very hands on. Maybe we could call on her to squish this mental midget.

Why hasn't anyone in the media mentioned that he lied when he said that Iran was in compliance with the IAEA inspectors?
So, what is the Statute of Limitations on the kidnapping and holding of our US Embassy personnel for 444 days? That crime happened on US territory, and would be punishable in the United States.
The Nations of the World were offered a stark choice yesterday. They can hitch their wagon to the United States and join the march for freedom and progress, or they can let their resentment of the United States push them into the waiting arms of a madman.
Sadly, many nations will choose the latter.
Ike, I read that headline and I said, "This has got to be the Post!". There's no mistaking that New York flavor. LOL.
Amidababado obviously wasn't quite prepared for his UN debut. He was suppose to wear clown suit and wave a water pistol around while giving his laundry list tirade.
When he spoke this time, was he again bathed in light as everyone in the audience sat there transfixed?
LOL! That was my first thought too -- the NYPost anyway has taken the gloves off!
You will never see a headline like that in the New York Slimes!
The Headline alone was worth the Posting of the Article.
CNN thought so... they aired his whole speech. Jack Cafferty said Ahmadinejad got prime-time... while Bush spoke when nobody was home. Wolfie said he was quite interested in hearing what the man had to say... he smiled as he spoke.
The problem is not America's fault, not Israel, the problem is worldwide islam and nothing else. Jews have been in Israel for 3000 years.
This man was IN OUR COUNTRY and we didn't seize him???!?!??!?
Damn. You beat me to it.
Why aren't we seizing and imprisoning this man?
Rosie O must be his speech writer.
Better yet.....why wasn't he shot down like the rabid dog he is?
bttt
I was working yesterday and didn't catch all of it, but FNC had a segment discussing this. I believe the UN is extraterritorial and anyone who stays on its property is essentially in sanctuary.
I didn't watch much news last night, so I don't know if it was covered. Glad US and Israel walked out.
Looks like his shorts are too tight.
"Stu, riddle me this: If Hitler had entered our country in the beginning of WWII, would we have let him simply leave again?"
Why aren't we seizing and imprisoning this man?"
Because we don't have the troops to support and fend off the uprising this would cause. You would see OUR cities go up in flames, let alone worldwide. Seizing him would be an outright act of war, you'd see Congress and the Senate move immediately to impeach the President (you have to know they'd never sanction or support this), and anyone else involved in the seizure. Then we'd have to fight a war we started with no true leadership or the liberal leadership who would seize power in the vacuum left behind would capitulate, apologize, and it would all be for nothing.
I'm sure there are those in the Administration who would love to do this, but the fallout would be horrific. The State Deaprtment would attempt a coup, because of the legal/political ramifications (sadly), and the libs would have an collective fit and go nuclear on the administration.
No, we have to bide our time.
This nutjob will hand us all the excuses we need to take him out in his own bed, willingly. That speech earned him a smart bomb right down his chimney. He should have a taken a serious lesson from what Saddam's blustering got him, but Middle Easterners tend to be stubborn and pompous.
It's disgraceful that the UN is on our soil, and this kind of speech is allowed and celebrated there. If ANYTHING, this speech nails home that it's high time to let another country host the UN. I appload our administration and that of Isreal for walking out - now, if we could just get them to make that permanent....
He doesn't claim to bein compliance, just that the Nuke-smart IAEA guys have a watchful eye on them.
Probably making sure they do it right, if I had to guess.
However, if you simply made me President for a day, I'd be glad to kill the nutjob, then take the impeachment for the team. :^)
I'll gladly help. Make me SecDef....willya willya willya??
You sure you want SecDef?
There's a slot available as SexDef.
Not as much war, but a lot more love.
.....It's disgraceful that the UN is on our soil.....
Great post.
However a little more reflection illuminates the facts that New York perhaps the only possible location. New York is in America where there is abundant freedom, even freedom to allow such incidents as that under discussion.
Even though I mentioned earlier that Adminajad was probably arrestable on charges brought by the hostages, I knew that what you posted was the real truth. It is because we can absorb the verbal attacks in our own cities that we are great.
It is a far better course to kill the man than to wound him.

The best NY Post headline ever:
After a KKK rally in midtown Manhattan: SHEET HAPPENS
Did I hear correctly that he actually said we need to face the fact that we must bow down to them (Iran)?
He's so fey.
Ahmadinejad is in town to rally the faithful.
Gosh there wouldn't be any Media Bias (c) there would there?
Or perhaps all those SAHMs are really just interested in 'their stories' so watching the leader of the free world has no particular draw for them. Just trying to think like someone at CNN here. Failing, but trying.
CNN was fawning all over him right on que. Last night they described his speech as Iamjiahdmadman showing a "calmer, gentler" side.
Gentler side? Like when he spent 30 minutes diatribing about wanting the 12 Imam to appear which means world wide apocalypse.
And guess whats on the UN's agenda today?
A speech by Chavez!
I'd love to see his hotel bill ...I would almost bet there would be mini-bar and movie charges.
There - fixed it.

A rabid dog that needs to be put down.....
CNN is the only news outlet that covered him.
FYI to NYers: I was listening to WABC radio this morning. Curtis Sliwa mentioned that there would be an anti-Iamjiahdmadman rally at 46th St. and Second Ave. today. I didn't catch the time. Curtis, Rabbi Potaznik and others will be there.
If I actually see that bumper sticker -- ever -- I will veer off the road and die, laughing.
Ironic how all these CNN reporters fawning over the Iranian president would be in jails or disappear in the middle of the night never to be heard from again, if they lived in Iran and reported they way they do.
Thats the true hypocrisy of their vile existence.

Does anyone know whether or not he felt all warm and glowing and levitated? - and did the crowd fall into a trance under his *spell*?
