Principal Sues Students Over MySpace Pictures

My thinking is being consistant with current federal laws. Anyone under the age of 18 can not enter into or be bound by a contract. Upon entering MySpace or other websites a contractural agreement is made between host and users. If user is under age 18, no contract agreement can be made or enforced, hence, no violation regardless of posting content. Case dismissed!

So a 17 yr old can make a myspace page about how he is planning to kill his neighbor or even the president and you being the judge would release him?

The one who needs to be sued is MySpace. They allow anyone to sign up and that means kids too. Parents may think that their kids are not on MySpace, but they'll be in for a big surprise to learn that they are. It's THE place to be, and ANYONE who is not on MySpace is in a very small minority. All kids have to do is lie about their age and they are on. I'm talking about kids as young as 12, and I know for a fact that they can and have joined MySpace. One of their friends little sisters was on there at 11.

After hearing so many bad things about MySpace, I asked my friend's kids and they are both on it and their cousins in Albuquerque are on it too. Those kids all have a 4.0 grade average, so it's not just the "bad" kids who are there. None of their parents knew that they were members, either. I've seen things that I would equate with soft porn. In my life, I've never seen anything like it. The language is laced with profanity of the worst kind, and sexual images/content are every where. I have read profiles of some of those kids and they've given out their full names, addresses, parents names, schools, etc. They could already be victims of identity theft. They won't even know it until they are old enough to have credit, and are rejected for bad credit. Obtained by someone who stole their identity while they were on MySpace. There are sexual predators who are stalking some of these kids and they don't understand the danger they are in.
