Well, you see..., people would have said that about a major attack like 9/11.

I mean, back then considering knocking down about ten buildings in New York City (the financial hub of the U.S.), attacking the Pentagon (the military hub of the United States), and making an attempt to attack the Congress (the legislative hub of the United States), all in all, thousands killed -- would have precipitated "turning Mecca into a sea of glass..."

BUT, it didn't!

And it won't this time either. The Saudis will still *remain* "our friends" (business as usual).

The problem will still be a "war on terror" (and not a war on Islam). It will still be "the radicals" -- and not the Muslim religion.

Do you think anything will change?

I think that, after the coming attack, you are correct in that the government will continue to say that this is a war on "terror" and only the radical minority who have "hijacked" a great and peaceful religion.

However the people will believe otherwise and will act accordingly. We won't CAIR who's hijacked and who's not.

Knowing what we know now and knowing the difference between what was essentially three huge Molotov Cocktails rammed into buildings and mushroom clouds with irradiated surrounding countrysides, yeah...there'd be a different reaction, this time.

9/11 was largely restricted to a couple large city blocks of real estate. Take out scores of city blocks and multiply the death toll by a factor of 100+ and you'll get a different retaliatory response.

It's called upping the ante.
