Bill Clinton: ‘We Did Nothing Wrong’

Despite his impeachment, Gennifer Flowers, Whitewater and the other problems that have beset Bill Clinton’s political career, the former president still maintains he did nothing wrong.

During a wide-ranging interview with David Remnick of The New Yorker magazine – excerpted earlier on NewsMax.com – Clinton “started to talk about Whitewater, about Kenneth Starr, about how allowing the appointment of a special prosecutor had been ‘the worst decision’ of his presidency,” Remnick writes.

“He talked about old enemies in Arkansas, about the Resolution Trust Corporation, about Gennifer Flowers, about Susan Schmidt of the Washington Post.” Despite Clinton’s claims he is not looking back, “you could see just how deeply he still feels the attacks of the late ‘90s,” Remnick disclosed. He noted Clinton’s anger is palpable as his “carotid artery seemed to inflate like a jammed garden hose” as these topics were discussed.

But when asked if he thought it would be unbearable to go through all of it again if Hillary ran for president in 2008, Clinton replied: “I don’t care, because we know we did nothing wrong.”

Surprisingly some of Clinton’s closest supporters think he has more to blame than the so-called “Clinton haters.”

Remnick quoted one of Clinton’s closest aides, former Chief of Staff Leon Panetta, regarding Clinton’s state of denial:

“The method he uses to live with himself is to make a clear and precise argument that this was something that others had done to him and not that he had done to himself.

“Because of his brainpower, he can create a logic for anything.

“But deep down he would be such a good person if he could just accept the fact that he screwed up and made mistakes, and move on.”

What is this "we" business, mr. former executive branch person? YOU, Billy Boy. It's all about you until your legacy unravels, then it's we? NOT.

Oprah could really be a world leader with this, only she might not make enough money to pursue it.Then there the cost of extra security.

I believe it was something like 70% in 1992.

Actually it was 52%.

I'm the only woman I know that is interested in current national and world events and politics. I've been tried talking to my female friends about it but all they want to talk about is their own problems, family, shopping, church, or recipes.

OK but taking all the numbers, women are the biggest DEM voting block married or single. They beat blacks and white males.

James Carville will soon be out to defend Clinton. But, the more attention they draw to this subject, the more they blow it. Clinton made a drastic error when he turned into a raging bull during the interview. He brings back painful memories of Monica, when he lied to us about his affair.
We will never forget the Clinton face during his lying rant.

Women in general married or unmarried are trouble when they vote for Kerry or a Clinton.

C.S. Lewis once said something to the effect that the most striking characteristic of a demonstrably bad man is that he does not believe he has ever done anything wrong.

" but all they want to talk about is their own problems, family, shopping, church, or recipes."

Sounds like those are the only things women should be voting on.

What would be hard to imagine, is Bill doing anything more than he has already done, to get that lapdog wife of his to go balistic. I'll grant you that.

It will be interesting to watch once she's been shut out of the White House forever. No down side then...

I completely understand.

As I understood it, the CIA was supposed to be a foreign assignment agency. The FBI was supposed to be a domestic assignment agency.

In the old days, I thought this brought on a wall because it was supposed to eliminate the idea that domestic spying was taking place involving U.S. citizens.

This wall thing was strange to me. The CIA could have given foreign intelligence to the FBI all along. That would not have been problematic at all.

Others may come by and correct me, but this is the way I thought it had worked for decades. Perhaps I was wrong.

I appreciate the comment, because I'm not coming to this from a chauvinist point of view. It was just a real eye opener to see that stat.

He was screwing about five women while he was doing Monica. He has had more women since his left. Hillary just keeps them out of the news like always. Why does any Christian support the life style of these two?

Because of his brainpower, he can create a logic for anything

Is it 'brainpower' or 'pathology'? I'll bet there's a psychologist out there who knows the answer.
