I disagree. If Slick Willie truly despises Fox News Channel and Wallace as much as what he made it seem like, then why would he voluntarily agree to go on there?

He clearly was well-prepared for that subject to come up, and he may well have been even hoping for it to. That little tirade was preplanned all the way. He and the Democrats can see which way the poll winds are blowing lately, and it isn't in their direction. This was red meat to try and fire up his base now that we're heading into the home stretch.

If that was what it takes "to fire up his base", him looking like a kid in a department store tantrum, then they have a BIG problem..............

I agree with you. I think it was staged by Clinton. I didn't see the interview, just the part from Drudge and the audio on the radio, but Laura Ingraham said Bill Clinton started off the interview angry. It also gives legitimacy now that Fox News is the right wing organization. The same as him saying something is racist. Even if it's totally untrue, the accusee will be forced to watch what they do/say to prove they aren't racist, conservative biased, etc. Hill and Bill don't do anything that isn't politically calculated. The only thing Bill could careless about the political ramifications of are his horndog ways--that's even more on the top of the food chain than politics.

He went on there b/c he was recently snuggled up with Mudoch on that global whatever initiative. He thought that coziness with the boss would count for something (i.e., that Wallace would be intimidated into not asking hard questions).

He also thought that an interview on Fox about his global whatever initiative would elevate him as a stateman, help the Missus, and pave the way for HIS return to the WH.

I agree totally.....

Kristol was kind enough to throw Wallace a bone in this piece....looking at the guy thing, Clinton dominated, Wallace submitted. Clinton knew it would work out as it did.

He clearly was well-prepared for that subject to come up,

Of course. He's been rehearsing his defense against all those "right wing enemies" every night as he tries to fall asleep. It should be well rehearsed by now.

This was red meat to try and fire up his base...

Clinton has never given a sh*t about his "base" unless he himself was running for something, and he isn't running for anything this Fall. I suspect he was most concerned about shoring up his crumbling legacy however, which has begun to resemble a New Orleans levee at flood tide. I'll give him that.
