The Gospel According to McGreevey–Wrong
Americans for Truth ^ | Monday, September 25th, 2006 at 9:03 am

Posted on 09/25/2006 3:38:36 PM PDT by Tim Long

Mr. McCullough suggests below that our country has a “new superhero” class of extra-marital fornicators: “Who are they? Men who engage in same-gender sexual activities!” Episcopal bishop (Vickie) Eugene Robinson for example, and, of course, the lastest: Former New Jersey Governor Jim McGreevey.

Mr. McCullough noticed, as did many puzzled Christians, how many times Jim McGreevey invoked the name of God, stating repeatedly that his open embrace of homosexuality is part of his “path back to godliness.” There could be no greater lie.

Jesus Himself said, “If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15)…the same Jesus that affirmed God’s design for marriage (one man, one woman, for life) and condemned both divorce and adultery (Matthew 5 & 19).

The apostle John wrote, “If we claim to have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness, we lie and do not live by the Truth…No one who continues to sin has either seen Him or known Him…He who does what is sinful is of the devil…No one who is born of God will continue to sin…” If Jim McGreevey knew anything about godliness, he would be sorrowful for what he has done, and is still doing, to his wife and children — and even more grieved by what he has done against a Holy God. Instead, he exposes his innocent little daughter to his homosexual lover and introduces his lover to the world as though such a travesty is laudable.

Jude, the brother of Christ, warned that there already were and would continue to be “godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality” and who “follow their own ungodly desires…who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.” He urged believers to beware, to “contend for the faith,” to “snatch others from the fire and save them,” to “show mercy, mixed with fear - hating even the clothing stained with corrupted flesh.”

Therefore, we must speak in opposition to this latest blasphemy: divorce and adultery and homosexual practice is not godliness. We must pray earnestly for Jim McGreevey and others who are living in open defiance of God’s will, calling evil “good.” And we must reach out with genuine love and compassion to those who are confused by homosexual attractions–those whose consciences are yet tender and responsive to Christ’s healing.–Sonja Dalton

The following is excerpted from Why Liberals Love Adultery, by Kevin McCullough, published Sept 24, 2006, by Townhall:

…there’s a new kid on the scene. Having done all he could to ruin the state of New Jersey - a state he took a solemn oath to protect and serve - the new adulterer that liberals all love is Jim McGreevey. Just in the last week alone he’s held hands with Oprah, and shared New Jersey rest area secrets with Matt Lauer.

He’s also invoked God’s name about three hundred times.

And now he says, “it’s all about telling the truth.”

But I’d like to know, “since when?”

It wasn’t important enough for the Governor to keep his pants zipped after pledging to do so before God and man… with his wife… twice!

There was no commitment to “telling the truth” or “confessing” (a reference to the poorly titled book the ex-governor is now pimping) when he’s arriving home from the busy day in Trenton and telling his wife and child everything but the truth - only then to whisk himself away under the late night guise of more work to go have an anonymous tryst with psychopaths along turnpike hide-a-ways.

Enough!

There is no need to tell us about the prayer cards you read before you made your big press conference announcing your resignation.

While Oprah, Lauer, McGreevey, and the throngs of democrats who “support” him may be holding hands singing Kumbayah - some adult needs to come along and ask a few serious questions.

Questions like why should you be praised for your “honesty” now when you are putting sexual pleasure ahead of the security of the state you served? Who can trust you after you named a lover to the post of homeland security czar who was neither an American citizen, nor was qualified to even attend homeland security meetings?

…In truth it’s selfishness coupled with the refusal to curb their sexual appetite. It’s the refusal to make the choice to not be a slave to their impulses. Basically they are still little boys who do not know how to discipline themselves - only now they wish the world to feel sorry for them. And in McGreevey’s case he’s openly seeking to work with kids for his life’s mission now.

Uh… no thank you!

Its called the modern day "Get out of Jail FREE card"...claiming you are a homosexual or some form of pervert.

Stealing from your employer and caught on video tape??? Just claim you are a homosexual and they will quietly let you leave the company and give you a nice severance if you promise not to even suggest they did it because you were a homo.

Hiring prostitutes on government time with government money? Just claim you are a homosexual and the left will put their arms around you and hold you close.

Its amazing to watch because it seems unbelieveable, yet it happens.

I read Mr. McCullough's piece on Town hall earlier today. It was well-written, with plenty of valid reasons why voters definitely need to thoroughly screen politicians they vote for.

...The former New Jersey Governor is only one of many self-serving pols who've adopted the Bill Clinton method of self-defense: Blame others for your problems while casting aspersions on your political opponents. All with the aiding and abetting of the MSM and the DNC. Of course whenever a Democratic pol decides to stand on principle, as did Sen. Joseph Lieberman, they unceremoniously kick your tail to the curb.

I saw a study a few years ago that concluded that 80% of gay men were born that way, the other 20% just got sucked into it.

Jim McGreevy is so disgusting, trying to put it into words is difficult without getting so foul.

The Democrats knew who this guy was, just like Clinton, yet they looked the other way because they could sell him in an add, like a bottle of coke. The Democrats have no moral compass..... just power and money.

They are disgusting as a political group.

The corrupt always seek out the tainted. It's a means of control.

What really bothers me is that in a case like this...the wife is twice victimized. Once by her cheating husband (with a man or woman) and secondly when she is forced to slap on the Stepford smile, understand, approve and applaud his new hero status.

Unflipping believable. It takes a lot for me to not place blame equally when a couple divorces, because it usually takes two to tango. But there is one point at which I draw the line and that is that a cheat is a cheat, period. If he had done the right thing, gotten a divorce and THEN chosen another path, it would have been painful but at least as honorable as possible. If you're going to be a skunk, be an honest skunk.

We've come a long way from "peccatum quod inter christianos non nominatur". I do wish that everyone would have a little bit of shame about talking about their promiscuous behavior in public.
