If mainstream journalists followed their own basic rules of conduct they wouldn't be going out of business.

My daughter is a HydroGeologist and she has studied the earth and its climate over the centuries. She laughs at human caused global warming. She said college professors who actually have studied the earth's climate for decades say there is no human caused global warming. She says "Only the people who are getting government grants and who have an AGENDA say there IS global warming. She sends me articles that are many pages long, that will have maybe one paragraph debunking global warming, because she said the TRUE EXPERTS on the matter don't even think it is worth talking about, it is a HOAX like Y2K was.

the media must roll back this mantra that there is scientific consensus of impending climatic doom as an excuse to ignore recent science.Once upon a time in the 70's, there was a scientific consensus that (1) we were headed for another Ice Age (2) we were sitting atop a ticking population bomb and would not be able to feed the inhabitants of this planet (3) the planet would run out of oil in less than 20 years

I just read this speech, and it is awesome! I don't know much about Sen. Inhofe, but he's obviously spent a great deal of time researching this issue and is quite articulate in debunking the global warming myth. This should be must reading in any high school science class!

Absolutely a terrific speech given by the good senator of Oklahoma. Living in New Jersey it pains me to live among so many hot airheads that it frustrates me. It is so good to have read his speech and I agree, it is a must read for everyone, especially in the schools where they're continuing the indoctrination which is nothing more than a baseless political issue.

I agree, a great speech. I hope it gets a lot of media coverage. I was listening to Public Radio the other day to get the local tv news simulcast and they ran one of their "moments of science" spots. The spot said that a study showed global warming was causing poison ivy to grow more robust, thus threatening the health of the weakest and most vulnerable among us. What a load of crap! If global warming is doing that, surely it is helping with food crops, as well. Funny, no mention of that.

Outside of Hell, most people would welcome global warming if it meant they wouldn't have to face severe winter weather.
The true measure of the media's duplicity lies in the implication that any current benefits to society will be at the cost of their future offspring's suffering when that can't possibly be known or proved.

And in 2000 we enjoyed Y2K hoax.

You got that right! I don't ever want to live where there are long cold dark gray winters! I love Southern California! Today I have windows open and it is sunny, dry, and in the 70s this afternoon.

My favorite reporting on the environment still has to be the mysterious ozone hole that appeared over Kennebunkport at the same time the Bush family was vacationing there.

What was interesting to me is how many times over the past 100 years the mainstream media has pushed one fear then the other. The current global warming hype is not their first time around. Note to journalists: only the left is willing to pay you for propaganda work.

The benefits of a somewhat warmer climate outweigh the negatives. Any child that can explain the function of a greenhouse knows that.
Humans are not wild animals, we use tools we invent to modify our environment. If we want it cooler we can give nature a little nudge to create more clouds. There are many ways to do that.
We should induce a mini ice age over Europe for a few months just to show we can do it if we need to.

The world needs to know that global warming is the most serious threat mankind has faced since the Y2K millenium bug!

Humans are not wild animals, we use tools we invent to modify our environment. If we want it cooler we can give nature a little nudge to create more clouds. There are many ways to do that. Quite true, although many types of clouds are warming. But cooling clouds and cooling aerosols are quite doable and cheap. The global warming alarmists refuse to admit that their models are inadequate even though if they were adequate the cloud adjustments could be modeled and tailored to meet a desired cooling goal.
