Intel report: Iraq a ‘cause célèbre’ for extremists

WASHINGTON - The war in Iraq has become a “cause célèbre” for Islamic extremists, breeding deep resentment of the U.S. that probably will get worse before it gets better, federal intelligence analysts conclude in a report at odds with President Bush’s contention of a world growing safer.

In the bleak report, declassified and released Tuesday on Bush’s orders, the nation’s most veteran analysts conclude that despite serious damage to the leadership of al-Qaida, the threat from Islamic extremists has spread both in numbers and in geographic reach.

-----------------------

Virtually all assessments of the current situation were bad news. The report’s few positive notes were couched in conditional terms, depending on successful completion of difficult tasks ahead for the U.S. and its allies. In one example, analysts concluded that more responsive political systems in Muslim nations could erode support for jihadist extremists.

Even in light of President Karzai's comments today and obvious comments within the 4 pages declassified, our lamestream media won't let go that they were hoodwinked again. So, the spin continues.....as usual

So our enemy gets pissed when we attack? So what? Are we supposed to make them happy? Liberals have sick minds.

What is wrong with these people? Are they incapable of understanding what it is they read or are they just so eaten up with hate?

I really have to wonder if the terrorists who flew the planes into the WTC, the Pentagon and the field in PA, didn't have some kind of chemical on them also that scattered and effected half the nation's citizens brains and causing all this recent insanity.

Even Pravda laughs at that AP/MSNBC report. How much more selective and biased can you get? ... there's even a "Al Franken responds" next to the article!

And they have the nerve to say Fox is biased.

...So I assume the left wishes us to not fight Islamo Fascism, not bring pseudo Democracies to Afghanistan, Iraq, not empower the people of those countries, not bring rights, education to woman and children to those countries...because it ticks off fascist Islamo Nazi's who are taught by their Muslim clerics to hate us and kill us, who have attacked American interests, killed Americans numerous times prior to Iraq intervention...is this the point the AP is attempting to make?

It seems to me that every issue the left claims they are for and demand here in America, they oppose it for other nations. Women's rights, civil rights, human rights, free elections and such.

They are entitled, but the rest of us aren't?
