Sept. 26, 2006... Local Johnstown, PA station WJAC-TV announced during their 11PM news cast that former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry will be speaking at the Murtha anti-war counter rally this Saturday. Murtha's counter rally is organized by former Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia. Former presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark is also expected to speak.
The Murtha's counter rally is expected to draw anti-war demonstrators in support of Murtha. Rep. Murtha, who has been critical of the War in Iraq, has received national attention and awards of recognition from anti-war groups such as Code Pink who protest outside hospitals caring for America’s wounded soldiers.

Okay, so since Kerry has now jumped in with both feet, does this mean the Swifties will now get involved in calling out Murtha? I doubt it, but one can always hope.
I just pray that our Sunday rally isn't dwarfed by the sleazeballs on Saturday. But given the history of conservative activism, I'm not holding my breath.

Cheer up, Coop. I think John Kerry will step in it at this rally, and Wesley Clark won't be much help, either.
I think you should derive great satisfaction that Kerry is going to show up. A lot of Viet Nam vets remember him, and it is not with affection.

Great news! Kerry turns everything he touches into a disaster. I'm sure this rally will be no exception. Even if they manage a bigger crowd, that doesn't really matter. What matters is energizing enough voters to turn out and vote Irey.
There has been a lot of great conservative activism surrounding the Irey campaign so far. Lots of cash and volunteers. But October 1st in Johnstown is a day to stand and be counted. It's the least we can do for our troops and our country.

What a group of seditious thugs and traitors -- Kerry, Clark, and Murtha! Does anyone really take them seriously? I get serious nausea just thinking about that bunch of liars. Traitor Kerry and his questionable Vietnam experience, Wesley Clark, responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent civilian SERBS, and Murtha, a common thug with direct responsibility for putting into jail the Pendleton 8, and a questionable past, also! What a bunch!

Wes Clark almost irritates me more than Kerry or Murtha. The psychopath tried to start a shooting war with Russia but fortunately the soldiers under his command refused his order. Yet now he assumes the anti war mantle.

I unerstand your frustration, but you have to remember that people like me (58-year old grandma) can't really drive 800 miles to a rally. My life just doesn't allow it. Sorry.
I do what I can donating and digging up information. Local folks need to be the ones who attend rallies.
