Bob Kerrey, Wesley Clark to speak at Murtha's anti-war counter rally Saturday

Mod note: WJAC corrected its earlier report. Bob Kerrey, not John Kerry, will be at Max Cleland's pro-Murtha event.

Sept. 26, 2006... Local Johnstown, PA station WJAC-TV announced during their 11PM news cast that former presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry will be speaking at the Murtha anti-war counter rally this Saturday. Murtha's counter rally is organized by former Sen. Max Cleland of Georgia. Former presidential candidate Gen. Wesley Clark is also expected to speak.

The Murtha's counter rally is expected to draw anti-war demonstrators in support of Murtha. Rep. Murtha, who has been critical of the War in Iraq, has received national attention and awards of recognition from anti-war groups such as Code Pink who protest outside hospitals caring for America’s wounded soldiers.

Hi Coop! Not at all surprised that Kerry and Weasley will join the Murtha anti war rally.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you at last Saturday's D.C. Rally to Support our Troops. Wanted to thank you personally for delivering my goody packages to WR Hosp.

Hope there's a good turnout for the boot Murtha rally.

Ahhhh, yes. The ol' "attack the messenger" approach. But at least jla has the guts to do it to my face, unlike bmw.

Free Republic is absolutely pathetic when it comes to doing more than talk. I keep asking folks to prove me wrong. Not ONCE has anyone been able to do it. The D.C. Chapter put on an awesome event, just like last year, only this time they even spent money advertising it. People travelled in from CA, PA and elsewhere. And they still managed 70-100 people. Wow.

Yes, I chose to skip last weekend's rally, after Larry Bailey decided not to have a "Boot Murtha" booth. I figured attendance wouldn't top 200 (who knew I was being overly optimistic?!?), so I did a charity run instead. And have no regrets. If I never attend another "Support the Troops" event as long as I live, I'll still have accomplished more than 95% of the crowd at this forum.

Now run along and find a nice "penis" or "breast" thread somewhere.

Sorry I didn't meet you, 4integrity. But I must say the timing of your post, immediately following jla's weak jab, was impeccable! :-)

I wonder how many people will decline your "invitation" to the Johnstown rally out of disgust with your smug attitude and obnoxious delivery. The number is much bigger than you think.

I'll still have accomplished more than 95% of the crowd at this forum.

I'm betting some of those accomplishments were actually positive, too.

But that won't stop the blowhards from rationalizing that it was mean ol' Coop who kept 'em from getting off their duffs.

One thing I have learned over the years. It's virtually impossible to get lazy FReepers to pay attention to these threads... unless I piss 'em off! Thanks for the bump.

"Mean" isn't among the most common epithets.

I don't care. It's not about me. It's about conservatives getting off their lazy derrieres and doing something other than posting "We should support our troops!" a dozen times or flocking to the nearest "nude pictures" thread.

23 September - Support the Troops & Their Mission

The D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com invites all those who support our troops and their mission fighting the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere at home and abroad to join us in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, September 23, 2006, from noon to 3 p.m. on the grounds of the Washington Monument at 17th Street and Constitution Avenue, NW.Announcement here 1 October - Boot MurthaCome to the National VFTT Boot Murtha Rally Sunday, Oct. 1st in Johnstown, PA Location -- Cambria County War Memorial Arena, downtown Johnstown (Murtha's hometown!) Time -- 2:00...

Golly gee, Petronski. As you can see up above I tried your "Leave it to Beaver" hugs 'n kisses approach, and that rally ended up with a whopping 100 folks (the majority of which were the same FReepers who do 99% of everything around here). And it's been that way for eight plus years. So I'm not worried about upsetting your precious little comfort zone.

Folks that truly get angry at my comments urging more action and denouncing laziness ought to take a hard look in the mirror.

But why do that (which might involve effort and subsequent action), when you can just blame mean ol' Coop?

Thanks for the bumps. Keep 'em comin'!

You post "I don't care. It's not about me." followed by a long tirade about how much it's about you.

Your Nude Kournikova thread, a low even for you, was posted long after you started your "Freepers are lazy bastards" schtick, and in any event hardly qualifies as a "hugs n' kisses" approach.

Oh, and I'm happy to provide the bumps. Perhaps folks will be emboldened to know they're not alone in their disgust of your "the beatings will continue until moral improves" school of motivational thought.

No kidding, Einstein. The "shtick" started last year after this "conservative forum" completely blew off the America Supports You and D.C. chapter's "Support the Troops" rallies. Just like it did this year.

And no, it wasn't a new low, Einstein. I did a similar thread last year involving an alleged nude swimsuit model. FReepers swarmed to that thread as well.

"Einstein?"

Sorry if I touched a nerve.

And no, it wasn't a new low, Einstein.

I didn't say it was "new." Kinda ironic when you screw up while mocking somoene else's intelligence.

We tried Petronski's precious "Sit on one's ass so as not to rock the boat" approach for 7.5 years. It failed miserably. So now we'll try mine, with or without your approval.

And if you find comfort in others coming on here to bash me, so will I. 'Cause it'll mean more bumps!
