Yeah, Olbermann long ago entered the Ted Rall Zone of unmentionable sleaze, but using such tactics against him is not right. Just change the channel; ignore him; starve him of figurative oxygen.
I'm kind of embarrassed to admit that I am not bothered by the treatment of Keith Olberman. I'm sure it is a felony also.....under some Terroristic Threat statute. Here is why I have no sympathy for Olberman.
The demonization of others practiced by Olberman puts other individuals at risk from the same sort of committed partisan that sent him the white powder. Olbernaman is an unapologetic patisan liar. The facts are of no concern to him when he can trash the character of others with impunity from his industry or his bosses at PMS-NBC.
Olberman's particular brand of advocacy denigrates and dehumanizes others and is intended to foment anger for political advantage. He adopts as show-fodder any moonbat conspiracy theory that claims Bush and the GOP are stealing elections, going to war to take over the oilfields or enrich Halliburton, or a myriad of other "Bush is evil" story lines.
One indicator of the kind of mental illness infecting Olberman and his sycophants is the results of an MSNBC poll on their website a couple weeks ago. The question was; "Do you believe the US Government had something to do with the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Towers". A full 48% of the respondents to their poll said yes. That's right, almost half of the people that frequent the MSNBC website think the Government blew-up the Trade Towers. Does anyone want to argue about the level of cynicism and hate required to think your political rivals murdered thousands of other Americans?
This is what the Keith Olbermans of the world do. They don't want to argue about policy or methods, they want to personally destroy their opposition by any means not requiring a cogent point or argument. It is pure character assassination. If you saw or read the transcript of his show where he called Chris Wallace a "monkey", and waxes about "Clinton talking truth about 9/11", you got some insight to just how fundamentally dishonest Keith Olberman is.
Olberman is a dangerous individual who cultivates hate through lies and distortions. He is putting others in danger of attacks by whipping up the lunatic left-fringe. At least he knows what it feels like to be frightened for his safety. I sure he will realize his complicity in putting others at the same risk.......not!
