Forgiving is all fine and good, but it mustn't be allowed to interfere with determination to kill these monsters. The only message these monsters will perceive is that torturing and killing Christians is a no-risk proposition because they and their fellow Christians will just forgive you and let you go on your merry way to torture and kill some more of them.

The screen got blurry for a second there.......

Only an idiot would equate this account, not anything new for Sudanese Muslims BTW, to absurd Jewish propaganda.

I think you meant anti-Jewish propaganda...

How can an animal like this slave owner profess to ever love his own children and treat a young boy, his child slave, like this? What kind of thinking lets one treat one child like a prince and another worse than an animal? Rhetorical really, and shows what kind of mindset we are up against.

I agree. Personally, I don't think I need to forgive. That's a particularly Christian thing (to me) and I'm not Christian. But I can appreciate it in someone else.

My feeling (after crying so much for this boy that I had to turn away from the computer), is that we should kill them all. I am trying to be better than that; that's why I think this child is a better person, spiritually, than I am, but my gut feeling is to get rid of them all, one way or another (no muslim immigration, war on terror, whatever).

Even though our society to royally messed up, you can still see the effects of grace on our society. Compare our culture, vices and all, to a "culture" that does not know Christ and refused to let Him in.

He remains disappointed he is unable to run quickly like other boys, but he says he's forgiven his attacker, because Jesus was nailed to a cross to forgive all sins.

This conquered the Roman empire. It will vanquish the Muslims, eventually, also.

"Please tell the Christian children in America to remember to pray for the children of Sudan," Damare told his visitors.

And maybe the adults, too.

Your comment suggest that if Christians defended themselves against such violence instead of just forgiving, perhaps these "monsters" wouldn't be so blatant in their ungodly behavior. I disagree. Muslims, by nature of their religious beliefs, adhere to violence and oppression. Defending oneself against them wouldn't deter them.

It should be understood that there is a distinction between turning the other cheek, and possessing the right to defend yourself. Christians have a right to defend their freedom, family, and property. The difference is in the cause of Christ. When going out to proclaim Christ, rest assured that you will be persecuted. But the Lord does not instruct us to physically destroy those which we are proclaiming the gospel to.

Islam is no religion of peace... never has been, never will be.

Islam is the world religion of Satan.

Exactly...

Why is it that you see Clooney and all the hollywood elite begging the UN to do something and not so-called black leaders?

Instead I went to Union Square at the immigration rally and they're there proclaiming illegal immigrants cause as the civil rights issue that Blacks went through here.
But nothing about the truly persecuted in Africa.

And? Or you saying it doesn't apply now or it's not true?

I guess children in public schools are learning the towers are still there because it was so long ago... it seems like a myth. /s

Do you not believe that Christians are being killed and worse in Africa, China, N.Korea and Middle Eastern countries?

Do you not believe that African muslims are taken in slavery, mutilated or killed under muslims?

Do you not believe that three Christians were killed in Indonesia just last week?

Yeah, really....

And what does Madonna have to say? Sinead O'connor? Amnesty International?

If Madonna really wants to shock, she should stage a concert with the cartoon of Mohammed the Bomber in the background ( I wish I came up with that one, but I read it somewhere).

When she "crucifies" herself, true Christians take pity on the poor woman. If I were a better Christian, I would too.

Sheesh! Take a deep breath and relax already!

What I was saying is exactly what I wrote. The story is an old one, though the date on this post is today's. I made no comment about the persecution and torture of the brave Sudanese boy.

The reason I remember the story is that I posted it here back in 2004.

Thank goodness I missed this lesson. In my experience, bullies simply grow bolder when their victims decline to fight back.
