I'll still shop there. But I think WalMart needs to be careful what it sponsors. In the case of gays, WalMart's silence would have been golden.

I agree with you about this being an attack on Walmart from the other side. They're huge, so they are an easy target for attacks from all sides of the spectrum.

You see, once you start legislating special rights for people involved in certain kinds of behavior, then where does it end?

Which is precisely why the government should get out of the marriage business entirely. If the government wasn't bestowing special status on monogamous heterosexual marriages (including Britney Spears' one day marriage, Cher's nine-day marriage, and Anna Nicole Smith's highly peculiar one-year marriage), then other groups wouldn't be clamoring to get their government-issued licenses too.

Umm, that's not what non sequitur means. It means "it does not follow".

What does the Supreme Court and "Truth" have to do with me pointing out that the Annoying Christians planning to stand in front of Wal-Marts on Black Friday is another reason to avoid Wal-Mart?

It is disappointing I guess they don't know who their shoppers are
______

Hmmm, walmart. the most successful retail enterprise on the planet. pay many dollars to those who examine markets and where the potential is to tap new markets.

You know, I think I'll have to operate under the notion that Walmart knows who its customers are a whole heckuva lot better than you do.

They'll do what they think is best for the bottom line, and given their track record, it's pretty safe to assume they know what they're doing.

Boycott away!

My argument is completely correct. You didn't take enough time to think about this issue. Gay behavior does affect everyone else in society. If you can't see that, you're not very observant and not well informed. I never said criminal behavior doesn't affect me. I'm saying that it's a form of behavior like homosexuality and thus people can argue that it should not be discriminated against in hiring because a large percentage of people with criminal records have cleaned up their act and are not involved in crime and must be given an equal opportunity for all jobs.

I don't shop at Wal-Mart because their products suck, their store layout is terrible, their prices are not worth the cost of gas to drive there. Target is closer, higher quality products and competitive prices.

That's what the purveyors of Muslim theocracy say too. We "infidels" are a "destructive force in society", and therefore need to submit or be killed for the greater good.

That's crazy. You're advocating a change in government policy that would lead to the end of the traditional American family and the end of our society as it is today. The rights of monagmous traditional marraige are embedded all though our legal statutes and if you start tearing those rights out of the statutes that would throw our legal system into chaos.

Well, let's see: Liberals hate Walmart because they "exploit" their workers. Now the American Family Association hates Walmart because they gave some money to some gay organization.

I guess Walmart will be closing its doors any day now. Oh...wait...they're making record profits. Never mind.

Wal-mart should cut it out. A boycott of their Chinese crap by a disordered 2 per cent of the population isn't going to put them out of business.

I live in Boise so I can watch to see what happens.

If this is just taking place down at BSU then it won't really effect me, and pretty much won't effect anyone else except the people that already support the "diversity week" and would be at the event anyways.

Now if this were taking place AT the walmart stores themselves then I would have a problem with it.

Counter-protest? Probably not, but I definitly wouldn't shop at the stores during the week this was taking place and 95% of my daily shopping is done at Walmart, the other 5% at WinCo (WinCo has better meats, produce, and deli).

They are wrong and we are right. You seem to be unable to make a judgement or a decision about key principles in society. Take a stand, make a judgement, make a decision.

No it doesn't. This is the argument of uptight Christians "It *is* our business!"

It's not. What gay people do in their bedroom doesn't affect you, or society. If it does, then let's take a look at what goes on in your bedroom (if anything), and legislate it in order to protect society.

...Gay History of Idaho...

In a fine Western state like Idaho, what would that consist of? Some Brokeback Moutain action, maybe?

You're wrong. Take a few months and think about it, then get back to me if you like.

What is one thing this "Family Leader" organization and the American Family Association have in common?

Both have a [Donate] button near the top of their web page. They want you to get all ticked off about something and send them some money so they can get more people ticked off.

Phooey on them!

WalMart is indeed a highly competent organization. They outperformed every other public and private organization when it came to getting emergency supplies into post-Katrina New Orleans FAST. Somehow nobody but WalMart had figured out that it would be a good idea to stockpile generators and bottled water in warehouses just beyond the danger zone, along with trucks and drivers to start ferrying the stuff in immediately after the storm passed.

lead to the end of the traditional American family and the end of our society as it is today.

More paranoid ramblings from the Religious Right.

The rights of monagmous traditional marraige are embedded all though our legal statutes and if you start tearing those rights out of the statutes that would throw our legal system into chaos.

I don't see anyone advocating revoking the rights of heterosexual couples. More paranoia.
