WASHINGTON - Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., submitted a letter of resignation from Congress on Friday in the wake of questions about e-mails he wrote a former male page, according to a congressional official.
Foley, 52, had been considered a shoo-in for re-election until the e-mails surfaced in recent days.
Campaign aides had previously acknowledged that the Republican congressman e-mailed the former Capitol page five times, but had said there was nothing inappropriate about the exchange. The page was 16 at the time of the e-mail correspondence.
Foley's election opponent, Democrat Tim Mahoney, has called for an investigation.

At least Clinton was with a female..that seems to make it way more normal, especially for a person in power.
Republican primary voters are forgiving people about most things, but they're not very tolerant about possible sexual escapades such as the Congressman was apparently involved in. When your GOP base deserts you, it's usually over.

I believe that is attributed to Former Louisiana Democratic governor, Edwin Edwards, now serving a very long term in federal prison. More Rep, uh, excuse me, dem corruption.
let's not forget Clinton exposed himself to women workers, molested women volunteers, and violently raped a woman doing business with his state. Allegedly raped others as well. Clinton is the Blue Duck of American politics.

That depends on the state. Former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards said that about his state, but obviously it doesn't apply to Massachusetts.
You're right. Someone that stupid probably shouldn't hold office anyway.
Just like that congressman from louisiana during the clinton impeachment hearings. some GOP'ers need a bigger spine to gut it out. But, then again, it sounds like he was scamming some boy teens.
