Blog: The Sexually Explicit Internet Messages That Led to Fla. Rep. Foley's Resignation
http://blogs.abcnews.com/theblotter/2006/09/exclusive_the_s.html ^

Maf54: You in your boxers, too? Teen: Nope, just got home. I had a college interview that went late. Maf54: Well, strip down and get relaxed.

Another message:

Maf54: What ya wearing? Teen: tshirt and shorts Maf54: Love to slip them off of you.

And this one:

Maf54: Do I make you a little horny? Teen: A little. Maf54: Cool.

The language gets much more graphic, too graphic to be broadcast, and at one point the congressman appears to be describing Internet sex.

Federal authorities say such messages could result in Foley's prosecution, under some of the same laws he helped to enact.

"Adds up to soliciting underage children for sex," said Brad Garrett, a former FBI agent and now an ABC News consultant. "And what it amounts to is serious both state and federal violations that could potentially get you a number of years."

And, so? Are you trying to excuse Foley?

No. I posted 'facts' which seemed to be lacking in the thread.

You are free to do with the factual information as you choose fit.

As I recall, I did not editorialize nor slant nor interject supposition into my post (contrary to what you did your your response). I simply posted data, information, facts, that were lacking. Raw data. Like it or not, the Foley situation has several facets, including legal and social.

I didn't excuse Foley's actions. I posted a legal fact regarding his situation. Those who were calling him a pedophile were doing so with a lack of information. Under the law in the District of Columbia....that is the basis of the legal case. Sorry if the facts confused you. Facts confuse allot of people, especially when the facts don't fit your personal agenda.

After reading enough of the transcript, I agree that Foley ought to be tarred and feathered for his intentions/words. Hard to believe what sloppy spellers these Congressmen are too...

On further look, the kid has better spelling and self-dignity for grammar than the elected official!

What's worse is that the leadership knew about the emails.

In the AP story, Rep Alexander stated that he informed the leadership 10-11 months ago about the emails. Why did Hastert keep him in his slots for the past year knowing this? What was Denny thinking?

I would have to hear Hastert's take on this. I can't believe that Hastert would not expose a homosexual pedophile and boot him out and get somebody else in.

Behold, the true face of HOMOSEXUALITY and PERVERSION, folks.

This is what it looks like.

How anyone could consider this 'wonderful', or 'alternative', or even something worthy of 'pride'.

It is nasty, dark behavior of the filthiest kind. Barf alert. People guilty of this should be castrated if not hung. And I don't care if they have a (R) after their name or not.

To think there are people like this out there, for example, running for statewide office in Illinois.

I wonder if they're defending this guy over on DU since he's gay and a child molestor?

Sure, the Rats would adopt him, he fits their profile for a person in a high office!

Obviously a lot of the most vocally anti-gay people are completely gay themselves.

Sorry, this is nothing but your personal fact-free opinion.

No, it's not. Notice that I didn't say that every person with anti-gay opinions is gay, but it does seem that quite often some of the most vocal ones are big hypocrites. In case you are not familiar with this phenomenon, read post #96.

There are many other examples. For instance in my home town there was a city commisioner who used anti-gay themes in his fundraising letters. He was found to be having an affair with a male member of his staff. In Spokane, Washington, Mayor Jim West had sponsored anti-gay legislation while he was in the legislature. He was voted out of office after it was found that he was offering city jobs as bait to attract to potential young male lovers.

Here's an example who is a former member of congress.

If you want more public examples, I will look dig them up for you.

Here's another example closer to home: In my time on FR I have noticed that a small group of persons always leap to join anti-gay threads, posting many links they have accumulated. My conclusion, which has been reinforced by conversations I have had with some of these people is that they have had homosexual feelings at some point in their lives. In my opinion, this means that they are not purely heterosexual. Perhaps these people are not "completely gay", but they are not "completely straight" either.

So since a couple of people you've heard of or you know sounded off against homosexuality turned out to be homosexual themselves. We all know about anecdotal evidence.

There is one Freeper here - named scritper - who is too busy currently to spend much time on FR. He is one who used to post many links, as he has done much research on the topic of homosexuality over the years. If you are referring to him, you are worse than blind and are basically slandering a very fine individual.

Your opinion was, and remains, fact free. I have been accused of being a closeted "gay" many times on FR when I managed the Homosexual Agenda pinglist and/or posted on such threads. Nothing could be further from the truth; on the contrary, such an accusation is a classic homosexual agenda promoting talking point.

True, but I'm proud of the fact that the major response among Repubs was "hang him high."

Then how do you account for the fact that the Republican leadership in the House (Hastert and others) have know about this for nearly a year without doing anything?

I fear that more heads will roll before this is all over.
