Rahm Emmanuel is blasting Tom Reynolds for not doing anthing about Foley. I wonder how Rahm feels about Clinton pardoning Mel Ryenolds at the adivce of the Chicago City Council.

exactly right. If the RATS were really interested in protecting kids, why did they wait so long to let this come out? The ethical thing to do was go to the GOP leadership behind the scenes and tell them they had a problem with one of their members. Instead they sit on it until right before the election. This is what should be hammered home. Turn it right around and make it backfire on the RATS.

The big difference is that we don't rally around this scumbag and come up with lame excuses for why this is no big deal as the democRATS do for their perverts.

Foley is disgraced for life, and we don't want him anywhere around us (at least not within reach, lest we invite an assault charge).

it's because we don't fiddle with nuance, we have definite borders between right and wrong. what Foley did is depraved and I would not wnat him within distance of my kids.

Great Article! As usual American Thinker is heads and shoulders above the rest. I thought the exact same thing about that original website that got the first email and if you go read the comments section on that site, it reads like blogactive.com(a venemous gay website) that I believe is implicated in this on some level as well. Going to do a whois search on that original website right now.

I dont think there is any doubt this was held back for their October surprise. I am glad the POS was exposed, but this also exposes the extremes that the Dems will go to to win. Nothing is too low.

There are two people responsible for this. Foley and the speaker who knew about it last year and did nothing. He should have been arrested.

From the article: "ABC has not disclosed the names of the recipients of the instant messages which were sexually explicit, years old, and not seen by anyone else. We do not know how anyone but the recipients could have retrieved them."

My emphasis added. This is what I've been wondering about.

The Constitution doesn't require morality from elected officials.
That's the electorate's decision.

Long time Democrat bachelors, like Representative Bobby Scott, are protected from their constituents by the media.

The media looked at these charges. They do not look at morals charges against the likes of Bobby Scott.

The seamiest of the released emails, which Foley has not denied, are right up there with Rhodes Scholar and Illinois Democratic Congressman Mel Reynolds’ taped phone conversations lusting for 15 year old Catholic school girls in their uniforms

This is a much better comparison than BJ Clinton, IMHO.

Sick, sick stuff.

Why didn't Clinton resign for his "indiscretions"?

(Yea, it was rhetorical and self-gratifying.)

What's illustrative to me is that, unlike past sex scandals, mostly Democrat, where the congressman is grilled for an extended time and then there is satisfaction when he is eventually removed from office, Foley gave up without a fight much like Bob Livingston (LA) so the Democrats (and some disgruntled Republicans) immediately turned their fangs to others who were not the one committing the offense.

It's as if the Dems are sporting for a six-month bloodbath even after the perp confesses on the first day so instead of going after Foley, everyone is going after someone who knew and did nothing.

Of course, it's unheard of for Democrats to just admit their guilt and resign. Most Democrats will argue that what they did was virtuous and only evil moralistic Republicans would find it wrong. At best, you might get a Democrat to admit what they did was wrong but define it as a "disease" or a "weakness" as if it is not their fault or responsibility so gosh, no, they shouldn't lose their job over it.

The other thing that bothers me is how the GOP is giving away "safe" seats like Foley and Delay before the election but after the point where a safer alternative can get on the ballot and campaign for themself - practically handing the seat to the Democrats. If this were the Democrats in these positions, they'd fight for re-election and only then give up their seats and cause a special election later when they can produce a well-funded alternative.

The Evil Party and the Stupid Party once again showing off their character traits.

Very interesting article. It appears that the reporter Brian Ross of ABC is looking to be the new Dan Rather.
