I live in the area and drive truck. 20 years ago I had a job picking up milk from mainly Amish farms. I had
very good relationship with the farmers and their families. This shooter worked for a company that picks up milk from farms that can't meet the stringent rules of federal regulators. The milk that he picks up goes to factories to be made into cheese.
The Amish are wonderful people that interact with neighbors and are the first to jump in and help anyone that needs help. They do not deserve this.
Pray for the victims and their families and neighbors.

I was just in Lancaster on Saturday and Sunday we drove from NYC and it is so beautiful there and the people are so pleasant. I pray for the families of the children.

I think we are about to see an example of how mature Christians deal with evil. They will overcome it with good. - May the Lord rebuke the Evil One.

Thanks for your local perspective on this story.
Very sad.

They do not deserve this.Obviously nobody deserves this, but I beg to differ with your previous sentence. There were at least 4 adult women and 25 students including 15 boys in this schoolhouse. This guy was able to bind the girls' ankles without interference -- NOBODY saw fit to "jump in and help". Sorry but that takes 2 hands (unless the girls followed instructions to tie themselves/each other up) so he was not effectively armed while he did this -- yet still nobody stopped him.
