No, much more difficult considering many are U.S. citizens and kicking people out of the country based on religion sounds very, very un-American.

Not at all. Many Muslims in the USA are U.S. citizens, and I'll bet this girl was born in the USA. There are no mechanisms under the law where a native-born US citizen can be "kicked out" of this country.
Life is not simple.
