Guess my dad (Baptist preacher, not Muslim) was ahead of his time in the '50s and '60s. He sent a note each year that I wasn't permitted to wear shorts in gym class -- or dance -- or see movies -- or learn bowling. Needless to say, my school years sucked. Nothing like being the geek P.K. forced to the sidelines for 12 years.
