Albert Pouhuls just popped a 2 run dinger in the top of the 4th at San Diego to give the Cards a 2-0 lead in the first game of their series.
Without Tommy Lasagne and, more importantly, Orel Hershiser? I don't think so!
By one lousy run, and you have four games to go (unless we beat you three straight).
Tommy will be there for this Championship, too.
Without Liriano it will be tough. But in Domeball, anything is possible.
Up until it was announced that they have no Pedro for the post season....
Just win baby!!!!
LETS GO METS!
LETS GO METS!
Clemenza predicts, btw, that the Twins will ultimatly win this series, and go on to destroy the Spankees and make girly boy A-Rod cry.
Would love to see a Dodgers - Yankees series. Failing that I'll take Mets -Yanks. I can't even name a player on the Padres and only one each on As and Tigers: Frank Thomas and Ivan Rodriguez. And I used to be able to name almost every player on every team (former rotisserie league geek).
But wasn't 2002 wonderful? I've seen many a game at the Big A and was happy the Angels finally broke through!
They play 162 regular season games just to make it to this point, and to use a cliche, the playoffs will really reveal character. It can be so close - one error can turn the whole thing around (just ask Cub fans about 2003!). The season goes on and on yes, but suddenly you're left with only what seems like a couple of games in October and the background noise of baseball is gone till April. We'll get plenty of football over the next four months. I wanna enjoy this last blaze of baseball.
LMFAO.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...........omg you crack me up.......just brilliant; I actually thought for a second that that was a shot of Mets fans and I'm thinkin' "jeezus.....NY really needs to 'upgrade'.....".......
I grew up in the SF Bay Area, but I can't stand the Giants. I was in SF the night that the Giants went up 3-2 on the Angels. The game was on in the restaurant I was in, so I quickly finished my meal and left before getting indigestion. As the Angels came back from oblivion to win, the most enduring image of the final game in Anaheim was of Barry Bonds sitting in the shadows of the dugout looking like a deer with its eyes caught in the headlights.
Living just twenty minutes from Angels stadium, I go several times a year. Win or lose, the atmosphere is always great. No wonder it was voted the best ballpark.
FRegards,
In the O.C., maybe. ;)
I'll be in the Greatest Stadium on Sunday.
Actually I believe it was in the major leagues.
Things considered included - surroundings; availability and quality of restrooms; price of concessions; friendliness of staff; parking as well as standards on the field, of course.
Whatever you're smoking must be really good!
