The Democrats' X-Men

Every time the Democrats want to try to discredit the Bush administration's military or intelligence policies (i.e. the two areas average Americans do not trust to Democrats), they trot out an ex-CIA analyst or an ex-military officer to criticize President Bush. This person will then state the Bush administration is lying and/or incompetent. This is supposed to lend credibility to the purely political statements Democrats make condemning the Bush administration. However, what Democrats - and the liberal media - will never tell you is the background of these ex-CIA or ex-military officers. For example, one of the most persistent and highly visible critics of the administration has been Larry Johnson. He was a CIA analyst from 1985 to 1989 and Deputy Director of the State Department Office of Counterterrorism from 1989 to 1993. Johnson has said Bush hyped intelligence reports about Iraq. He wrote an Aug. 17, 2006 piece for an antiwar blog stating, "It is a week since news broke in London about an alleged plot to blow up nine commercial jetliners, and there are emerging indicators that Bush and Blair exaggerated the truth about the actual readiness of the so-called plot." (Emphasis added) Johnson has been claiming presidents have been exaggerating the truth about terrorists since 1999. During a PBS Frontline interview that year, Johnson said that the Clinton administration "exaggerated the terrorist threat ...posed by Osama bin Laden. ...They're grossly exaggerating the problem. They are hyping it. ... what they should be saying is, 'There's one individual out there that really doesn't like us, and he's made it his mission in life to kill Americans, and we've gotta deal with him.' But we need to have a voice of reason in that process instead of putting ourselves out crying wolf, because this is essentially what's taking place right now. They call it the administration that cries wolf." Just to reiterate, Johnson is talking about the Clinton administration and bin Laden - not the Bush administration and Iraq. He said bin Laden was not a serious threat and Clinton exaggerated bin Laden's potential for danger. Johnson also wrote this gem, in a July 10, 2001 New York Times piece, "...Americans are bedeviled by fantasies about terrorism. They seem to believe that terrorism is the greatest threat to the United States .... they almost certainly have the impression that extremist Islamic groups cause most terrorism .... None of these beliefs are based in fact. ... terrorism is not the biggest security challenge confronting the United States, and it should not be portrayed that way." (Emphasis added) As far as being a spy, Johnson is more

Place this one in the "stating the obvious file." The MSM never reveals the background or motives of anyone who bashes Republicans (see Joe Wilson). Heck, if Foley comes out against Iraq, I'm sure he'll be "celebrated" in the MSM.

It ain't so obvious.

Aer you trying to tell me you knew about Larry Johnson's track record for predictions and Gen. Zinni's contradictions.

If you did good for you. I don't think most people do. I know I didn't.

I'm just an average person.

For some reason, I was expecting a story about Democratic super heroes. Like Captain Appeasement, the Human Wave (of Immigration), the Incredible Pork, Super Socialist, the Race Baiter, the Wonder Twins (Kutt and Ruhn), and Ted the Swimmer.

Foley will come out with his McGreevy book saying how being homosexually molested by a priest put him in the hell of republican repressions.

THAT is why Iraq is wrong.

(for a democrat it is logical)
