Good question....what did he "resign" from?

READ the article! He worked for Tom Reynolds.

I hope the FBI is talking to Messrs. Rogers and Fordham about what they knew and when about the Foley IM log files. Hopefully their computers and removable media have been seized as well to preserve evidence.

Very interesting. So, Foley's former chief of staff was gay and threatened by Rogers. Foley's computer info mysteriously ends up in Rogers' hands. It gets into the MSM's hands in time for the midterm elections, just as Rogers promised in 2004 and 2005.

Rogers should be in jail for extortion. It is a crime to threaten people with revealing embarassing information or with revealing that they have committed a crime in order to influence the conduct of a public official. It is one of the worst crimes in a democratic society, it brings discredit on the legislative process and undermines faith in the system.

I say democratic society just to bait the nuts who will read this and post "we are not a democracy, we are a republic, blah blah blah." Please, no history lessons and no PoliSci 101. Democracy is frequently used in a generic sense to denote a country that has votes for its leaders and policies, instead of a political entity like China or Chicago, which does not have genuine elections.

How can he resign if he was "former"?.........

He used to belong to Foley.

Then he belonged to Reynolds.

Now he's nobody's fool.

I'm trying to find the thread, but elsewhere I believe I read that this guy, the former staffer, was suspected of being one of the sources for the guy who passed the Foley IMs to ABC. The post specifically talked about him having access to Foley's IM account, user ID and password, opening up the possibility that that info could have been used to eavesdrop on any conversations or to fabricate some of the messages. As well it was stated that the IM account had been logged onto during the time in the last couple of days Foley was supposedly in the rehab program "lock up," implying this guy or someone with that access has logged on since this broke.

Doesn't the chief of staff usually lose their job if the person they're chief for resigns?

I thought he was now Congressman Reynolds (R-NY) Chief of Staff, who used to be Foley's COS.

They need to just clean house and start at the top with Hasert!

How would you suggest that can be done and not lose control of the WH, Senate and House?

If we lose any, it will be h@ll trying to get them back.

Your idea would just hand everything to hitlery on a silver platter and our lives would end up worse than caged animals.

Exactly right. I do suspect the motives and agendas of some posters here.

Previously, Hastert didn't see the IM's, he did see the emails. He saw the IM's on Friday, 9/29.

Like the Roman Catholic Church, the lavendar mafia has creeped into the GOP bent on undermining its very foundation and destroying it. Foley, Fordham, whomever.

Time to take out the trash, folks.

I'm on the fence with Hastert, NOT because I think he should have been able to do something last year about this, but because on Friday he said he had never seen the e-mails, while 2 republican congressmen say he DID see the e-mails, and in any case he SHOULD have looked at the e-mails when it was brought to his attention.

You, and a lot of people, seem to be confusing the innocuous E-MAILS from 2005, which Hastert said he DID see, with the nasty Instant Messages from 2003, which are the ones Hastert has said he had NOT seen, and about which he wrote to the Attorney General, asking for an investigation, both to see if Foley had committed any crimes AND to find out who had these IMs and didn't tell any authorities what Foley might be up to with the young men.

Wonder if it was Fordham who logged on/off to Foley's email account yesterday while Foley's in rehab?

Seems this bit-by-bit crap will continue until Election Day.

Doesn't matter to me. As a Christian conservative, my message to the DemocRATs is in my tagline!
