Yes. The only evidence that Foley may have committed a crime is that he went into rehab.

The latest story is that he started IMing with a former page with the first name of Tyson back in 1997 when the page was 17. Of course, I don't see how you could have IMs (IRCs?) that old and saved somewhere and
I think when it all comes out, Foley won't even be charged. To be honest, I don't care if he is or isn't. It's this Hastert witchhunt and the "conservatives" that are piling on that I despise.
If anyone else should in any way be targetted for any sort of retribution for not doing the right thing with respect to Foley, it might be the chairman of the page board who maybe should have reported the Foley incident to the whole board. But even then, they wouldn't have done anything.
If he turned 18 in February and the inflammatory IM's that everyone is making such a fuss about were dated April, then he was no longer a minor when those IMs took place.

I tend to believe the e-mails were truly written by him (creepy but not criminal), but the IMs were not and he was too ashamed to mount an "I'm a creep but not a pervert" defense.

The GOP is very lucky that their main opposition is the dems. It would be nice to see the GOP get it's act together, though!
