HARRIS FIGHTS AGAINST NELSON’S COSTLY IMMIGRATION AGENDA (Florida)
Katherine Harris for Senate Campaign ^ | 10-04-06 | Katherine Harris for Senate Campaign (Florida)

TAMPA, FL— This morning, Congresswoman Katherine Harris, the Republican candidate for United States Senate continued a targeted effort to inform Florida voters of how Bill Nelson supports amnesty at great peril to our economy and security.

Standing in front of the Tampa Sub Office for the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Katherine Harris reminded voters that she is the only candidate in this race who will strongly oppose efforts to grant special rights and privileges to millions of illegal immigrants.

Congresswoman Harris commented, “Unlike my opponent, I will fight for our hard-working families who struggle to afford our Florida lifestyle while being forced to pay more in taxes to support illegal aliens. Floridians want secure borders and fewer taxes, not amnesty as Bill Nelson supports.”

Bill Nelson has been rated as an “Enemy of the Taxpayer” by the Americans for Tax Reform, and the amnesty plan that he promotes would grant special rights and privileges to illegal immigrants, such as providing social security benefits for the years they were here illegally and offering in-state college tuition for their children, all of which will add to the excessive tax burden Floridians already endure.

Katherine Harris has voted to protect our borders from illegal immigration and create a secure, legal identification for temporary workers.

Katherine Harris, the Republican Candidate for the United States Senate, currently serves as the Representative for Florida’s 13th Congressional District.

After receiving a Masters in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, she continued a distinguished career in public service to her native state that began in the State Senate and as Florida’s last elected Secretary of State.

She resides in Longboat Key with her husband Anders Ebbeson and his 24-year-old daughter, Louise along with the constituents of District thirteen.

"And be skeptical about being against "amnesty". Everyone's against "amnesty" the word. But if you favor anything but enforcement and deportation, it's the same thing."

"That bears repeating!"

Couldn't remember where I had read something about Katherine Harris as regards OBL/illegal immigration/amnesty and the NAU/SPP, had to go digging, so in the interest of ALL cards being laid out on the table, a quick query of Katherine Harris SPP gets about the same information....

http://www.thesigintreport.com/serendipity/index.php?/archives/2-Katherine-Harris-Submits-bill-to-form-a-North-American-Union.html

Katherine Harris Submits bill to form a North American Union

Last year Katherine Harris [R-FL] submitted a bill. H.R.2672, that would speed the merger of America, Canada, and Mexico into a union (political, economic, etc.) by 2010, without the knowledge or consent of the American people. It now resides in a House committee waiting for the appropriate moment to sneak it through.

The bill, called the North American Cooperative Security Act, is part of the plan for Building a North American Community, which is sponsored by the Council on Foreign Relations and approved by the leaders of the three nations and the CEOs of multinational corporations that will benefit from this regional trading state. Financial support for this deconstruction of America is provided by Archer Daniels Midland Company and Merrill Lynch & Company.

The plan was announced as the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America by Bush, Fox of Mexico, and Martin of Canada on March 23, 2005 in Waco, Texas. All three leaders committed their nations to this union, essentially a coup d'etat without weapons, which would initially be run by trade agreements. American workers are only tools (cheap labor) in this corporate/government alliance.

The three member states would lose their remaining sovereignty when the process is finished. H.R. 2672 is taken directly from the CFR plan and will go a long way toward achieving this union, including providing support as Mexico works to secure its southern border with Guatemala and Belize. In addition, it will develop and implement "a North American immigration security strategy that works toward the development of a common security perimeter..." around the member states.

With a common security perimeter in place by 2010 the union should "move to full labor mobility between Canada and the United States...eliminating all barriers to the ability of their citizens to live and work in the other country." This policy should be extended to Mexico when the "...wage differentials between Mexico and its two North American neighbors have diminished considerably." [CFR plan]

Therefore, George Bush will continue to support open borders, illegal immigration, H-1B, L-1 visas, and other programs designed to lower the wages of American workers.

If you read further into the plan for Building a North American Community (pp.31.32), you will find a "suggestion" for a North American Advisory Council and a North American Inter-parliamentary Group, along the lines of the European Union. These two political constructions can then morph into law-making bodies.

And if the FTAA passes [a long shot at the moment], the regional trading state will include 34 nations of the Western Hemisphere. Chapter ll, article 4.2 of the FTAA Draft Agreement makes all laws and regulations of the member states, if applicable, subordinate to the trade agreement.

For the record, sponsor of the House bill, H.R. 2672, is Katherine Harris [R-FL]. Cosponsors are: Stevan Pearce [R-NM-2] and Christopher Shays [R-CT-4]

Sponsor of the Senate bill, S.853, is Richard Lugar [R-IN]. Cosponsors are: Norm Coleman [R-MN], John Cornyn [R-TX], Charles Hagel [R-NE], Kay Hutchison [R-TX], John McCain [R-AZ], and Ted Stevens [R-AK].

Good to see Harris on the offensive, though breaking into a single-digit deficit would help bring about some needed PR boost.

If there is a move for her to make, she has to make it now, probably in the next 10 days.

She really needs to break the 40% mark and close the gap to under ten pretty soon, or she will fall victim to being ignored by both sides of the political spectrum. When you're the underdog, you need to be heard twice as much

I hope her new staff has a few bullets in the gun.

In Bipolar Nelson's latest TV ad he's talking about how he will fight the oil companies. That's Democrat-speak for "let's keep the United States dependent on foreign oil". "Fighting the oil companies" is total idiocy, demagoguery.

She's out there everyday getting her message across.

She's really pushing the differences between her and Nelson.

This great letter was in the Venice Gondolier newspaper on Wednesday:

10/04/06
Harris has the goods to be our senator

Editor:

If you haven't met the beautiful bundle of energy known as Katherine Harris, you're missing a real treat. In her first term in the U.S. Congress, she has accomplished more than others with numerous terms.

The American Dream Down Payment Act, one of her first bills, became law in 2003. It was an innovative plan to help thousands of low-income Americans achieve their home ownership dream.

Always a friend of veterans, she also persevered until a national cemetery was a reality for our region. As a member of the International Relations Committee, her commitment to trade and national security issues is backed by a master's degree from Harvard with a specialization in international trade and negotiations.

After the 2000 election controversy, Harris took the lead in comprehensive election reform. In 2001, she testified before the U.S. House Administration Committee and proposed legislation that became the blueprint for Florida's nationally acclaimed Election Reform Act. She successfully proposed and achieved passage of historic civil rights legislation in Florida.

A consistent vote for tax relief resulted in solid job growth over the last 10 quarters, and puts her exactly opposite her opponent, who voted eight times against it. The National Taxpayers Union gave Bill Nelson an "F" rating four years straight. A nice smile, but his liberal views do not represent Florida -- or mainstream America.

Katherine has the background, the knowledge and boundless energy to represent Florida in the Senate.

>>Could be, it is the issue that will attract mainstream voters from both parties. The "silent majority" is pretty fed-up with mass immigration. She needs to find a way to make this position known in no uncertain terms to a hostile press. That is a real challenge. I wouldn't know if not for your post, but you are preaching to the choir.<<

"Mass Immigration' - - that itself is too PC !

Invasion is more like it, and that is what it would be called in a less multiculturalized America ~ the America that existed before Ted Kennedy's Naturalization Act of '65

The newer TV ad also has someone else speaking, not Nelson. The only thing said in his own voice is, "I'm Bill Nelson and I approve this message." His handlers have correctly perceived that Nelson comes across for what he his, a blowhard good ole boy with no ideas. He just follows the commands of the Clintonistas to support socialism. That's why he wants to "fight" the oil companies, as if they were the enemy and not the terrorists.

And I haven't seen one Harris ad yet. She promised that she would be donating $10 million to her campaign. What is she spending that money on?
