Your post is right on, but he (like myself) were trying to make a "funny".
At our church we had a guest speaker bemoaning that they don't know what has happened in Iraq to all of the the Christians that had been allowed to worship when Saddam was in power. (gag)
And this was after she had talked about her work as a "peace builder" during the Vietnam era. (gag gag)
