RedState.com has a video on their website where unpaid, ACORN workers let the cat out of the bag that they were sent out to go to 148,000 doors soliciting votes for an increase in the Minimum Wage but, they were also instructed to push McCaskill for the U.S. Senate.
This is a violation of campaign law. ACORN is not supposed to endorse any candidate.

ACORN a left-leaning organization? Who knew?
It's time to seriously reform the law concerning nonprofit organizations.
If you see the letters ACORN written on anything, just realize that you are paying for it. And they are perfectly happy to try to destroy you for having done it.

Well someone should make sure and get this to them a long with Rush and Levin and others.

Can't advocate for/against specific legislation either.
During the Kerry/Bush race, ACORN people were campaigning for Democrats in New Orleans. They looked like derelicts that ACORN hired to hold signs.
Yeah. By junking the income tax code, the IRS, and the government dictating political speech.
they're only purpose is to thwart evil scumbag pubbies and true patriots. /sarcasm
Yeah, and I think it was ACORN who was giving out packages of cigarettes to street people in Milwaukee to vote for Gore in 2000.
If at all possible, make a trip to Missouri in the final 72 hrs to help the Talent campaign on their phone bank.
It's easy and rewarding. Here's how a phone bank works. A script is provided to you. A list of voters is also provided to you with phone numbers. The list will have at least some pre-screening done, but it can't be up to date and you just have to deal with it.
You call. You try to be as apologetic and polite as possible and tell the person you're from the campaign and want to remind/urge them to to vote. As I said, there is a script, but it doesn't last long because the person on the other end will knock you off it with questions or anger or irritation at being called. You just apologize for bothering them and tell them you know they are getting a lot of calls promise you won't call again.
Sometimes you get a household full of Democrats. Sometimes they are polite informing you of that. Be polite right back. Sometimes they are not polite. Apologize for bothering them and move on. IT'S ABOUT NUMBERS. It's not about debating. There is always a temptation to debate and discuss. The clever opposition who get called and are themselves campaigners understand that and will try to hold you into a discussion. Understand their tactic and get off the line.
It's about getting as many calls made as you can and making at least a neutral impression on every one of them. When you get a GOP household, there is a temptation to engage in joint celebration with the person -- and that's a hard temptation to resist because so many of your calls will get an angry response and no one likes being yelled at -- but this is ABOUT WINNING. It's not about feeling good.
Anyway, it's a rewarding way to spend the weekend before the election. You will feel very good about yourself going home back to your own district to vote.
Owen,
Can you tell us if the Talent Campaign is aware of this video re: the activities of ACORN and Ms. McCaskill?
