HERE'S THE STORY IN PRINT FORM:

Allegations of inappropriate e-mails; Kevin King

By: Mike Deeson

St. Petersburg, Florida – Some Florida Democrats called Kevin King a rising star amongst the ranks of Democrats, but others, like the head of the Pinellas Democratic Party, Ed Helm, had doubts.

King was arrested in 2001. A judge ordered the St. Petersburg Police Department to seal all records regarding the arrest. King admits that the arrest stems from when he was a substitute teacher. He was arrested for computer solicitation to commit a lewd and lascivious act and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to published reports, King sent e-mails or instant messages to two female students, aged 14 and 15, trying to get them to skip school and drink alcohol with him. In addition, the reports say that King also asked the 14-year-old to perform a sexual act on him.

King, who admits he was arrested, insists he did nothing wrong and points to the fact that the records were sealed and he was not found guilty of anything. King would not appear on camera for this story.

Public records obtained from the Pinellas School District state that it was initially substantiated that he was committing or convicted of a felony. King convinced the school district to change the record to say that it was “misconduct in office where a student was related.”

King resigned his paid position in the Democratic Party after the primaries to care for his parents. Two weeks ago, however, he was elected a Democratic committee member position in Pinellas County.

The position concerns Ed Helm, who had earlier asked the Florida Democratic Party leadership to relieve him of his duties in Pinellas County, “or terminate him.”

This information comes in the wake of scandals involving disgraced former Congressman Mark Foley (R-Florida). Foley allegedly sent inappropriate e-mails and instant messages to former male teenage pages during his time in Washington.

Unfortunately, I think we're in that dreaded "tit for tat" stage (which isn't nearly as much fun as it looks when you first read the phrase).

The Dems fired the first round, so the GOP types will be looking to paybacks.

Remember the good old days when the USA would arrest and expel a Soviet "ambassador" for spying, only to have the same thing happen to an American... until finally each side had gotten rid of everyone on the other side that it hadn't compromised?

I wish that the political process were more enlightened, but we are not that kind of creature. At least, the political "tit for tat" in this country is done with negative news stories instead of bullets, as it is in most places in the world.

What's to be dreaded if it means for parties rid themselves of their perverts and predators?

The Dems will do anything to change the subject prior to the elections so they don't have to discuss the issues. They will lose big time if they tell the dummies who will vote for them what they plan to do -- raise taxes, obstruct any judicial appointments, begin impeachment proceedings for President Bush, Vice-President Cheney and look for ways to remove Secretary of State Rice and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld. They will make gay "marriage" legal and stop funding for the War on Terror.

Lets get the discussion back on the issues. That way the Dims lose fair and square from an informed electorate.

Do we just happen to know the political party of which the Judge was a member of?

Yes, I noticed. I was hoping someone, like you, knew who the judge was. I'll check it out myself. Thanks.

Unfortunately, we do not control events and the political winds they generate. To make headway against the wind, one must tack back and forth. Attention to Democratic scandals can be helpful here.
