Desperately Ignoring Foley October 6th, 2006

The Democrats think they have found their smoking gun. A little-known Republican congressman has resigned in a cloud of immorality, and the left and their media minions are sounding the midterm election victory bell.

Hurray for them.

Of course, they can only succeed with this strategy – one that conveniently doesn’t require them to offer an alternate platform or one single idea to the electorate – if enough conservatives buy into the clarion call, and stay home on November

Democrats have never been constructive, only destructive. If this is even a true thing, I keep hearing how (on the internet anyway) it was a setup. I wish, honestly, that the press would wait until the dust settles and things can get sorted out.

The quickest way to put this Foley scandal behind us is for Foley to switch parties. The story would die an instant death and Foley would get his reputation back to boot. Nothing scandalous about being a "Democrat" perv.

It's unfortunate that the Republican Party has left itself vulnerable to this sort of "scandal" by allowing gay men, closeted or otherwise, to hold public office and other positions of authority. This has clearly led to disaster, and the only solution is to purge all of them from the party. It's too bad that this will drive out a number of innocent conservative gays who'd never dream of molesting boys, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Foley couldn't win as a democrat in a conservative district so he switched parties. And here we are years later with this mess... Was Foley's real politics nothing more than a belief that he personally wanted power?

You're right. The MSM would consider him a hero, the dems in the House could stand and applaud him, and the issue would be about "just sex" and only then depending on what the meaning of the word "is" is... Brilliant.

Dude. Get a grip. How do you intend to identify closeted gay Republicans? Blood tests? Monitor their pulse rates as you force them watch amateur gay porn videos?

If someone says they're not gay, you take them at their word.

We're Republicans. Not Bolsheviks. We don't "purge"; rather, we participate in our wards, precincts, and caucauses, we share our views, debate our positions, and we vote.

This is the sort of thing you just have to deal with.

Foley,Foley,Foley, ... I am wondering what IMPORTANT news we all are missing. When all you can see FOLEY or talking heads talking about Foley are on EVERY DAMNED channel, it is time turn off the stupid TV and go read a book. Why do they call it "NEWS" when it is "OLDS?" One jerk who likes little boys makes more news than Korea getting ready to set off an atomic bomb ... where are the priorities here! (And especially SHAME ON FOX for doing the SAME thing!)

Except they aren't talking about Foley, they are talking about some bizarre claims of coverup, as if Foley is still in congress or something.

"PURGE" is exactly the word we should be using...

We need to be RAMMING this back down the Democrats throats, by THANKING them for revealing Foley...

They handed us a winning 2006 campaign issue on a silver platter, GAYS, if we aren't afraid to use it!

If only we had Republicans with BALLS, who would stand up and take this to the Democrats, this election would be OVER...

Can I fire gays now, without fear of lawsuit, because Democrats have proven what a threat they are to children???

Do Dems now support the Boy Scouts in thier quest to keep gays away from children??

I was going for the "modest proposal" effect. But come to think of it - blood tests, Clockwork Orange behavioral monitoring - it would work even better with those suggestions incorporated.

Senator, are you now or have you ever been a homosexual?

What a stupid idea. Some of the best conservative minds in DC are gay. Again, you conflate homosexuality with pedophilia and I remind you there is no evidence of that here. And you conflate one aspect of a person's being with all his views. Again stupid. I know many conservative gays.

But if you're deadset on being a minority party again, insist that only people who are exactly like you have a role in it. ]PHEH

Foley is just a normal homosexual looking for young stuff to perform sodomy with - isn't that what gay sex is all about? Isn't that what the other gays in Congress do? He's a normal gay guy, spreading disease.

News we are missing (and it looks like Rush, Wilkow and others who should know better are also ignoring these stories)...

1. North Korea is planning a nuclear test and the administration seems to have taken military response off the table
2. The Gaza strip is on the verge of a civil war between Fatah and Hamas
3. Condi Rice is making nice with Abbas and not pressing the Egyptians on civil rights
3. Mexico is in the midst of immense civil turmoil
4. The price of oil is dipping below $60 (sometimes substantially) despite the efforts of the evil Bush / Halliburton axis

Foley is gone. It's all about Hastert now, so they can say "REPUBLICAN SCANDAL" in large letters.
