WASHINGTON — The Justice Department has launched a criminal investigation into the disappearance of U.S. Air Force Maj. Jill Metzger, who went missing for three days last month in Kyrgyzstan. FBI officials told FOX News that Metzger's disappearance is being investigated by the FBI, and the center of the investigation appears to be the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia in Alexandria. At the time of her disappearance, Metzer was newly married and on temporary assignment at a U.S. base in Kyrgyzstan. Metzger claims that while shopping at the TSUM department store for souvenirs before a scheduled departure from Kyrgyzstan, someone stuffed an object in her jeans pocket with a note saying it was bomb and to go to a site in Bishkek. Kyrgyz authorities said Metzger reported feeling as if she were in a trance as she followed the instructions. No trace of Metzger was found until three days later, when she knocked on the door of a house in Kant, and told its residents she had been abducted. She was exhausted, had her hair cut and dyed, was dressed in different clothes and barefoot. She apparently told Kyrgyz police she had been abducted by three young men and a woman in a minibus. "This doesn't add up," said one federal law enforcement source who confirmed that the investigation was taking place. If Metzger had simply gone absent without leave (AWOL), it is presumed she would be prosecuted by the military under the Uniform Code of Military Justice. If she was kidnapped in Bishkek, the investigation likely would be centered there. The Air Force has been conducting its own investigation into what happened and whether Metzger may have had a hand in her disappearance. Defense officials last month also said her story does not add up.

Obviously so...but then its not the DOD or AF guys on this FBI investigation. This has a totally different smell to it now. Unless someone is saying that the AF can't do their job...this is going in a very different direction.

Hi there. Yesterday some interesting news was broadcasted on Kyrgyz National Television about Jill Metzger being pregnant and undergoing an abortion surgery, as cited one of our papers:

Yesterday, there was a news on Kyrgyz television, that Ms. Jill Metzger has indeed been pregnant.
US militaries are not allowed to be pregnant during the service (I think this one is long stretched, what the TV wanted really to say, probably, was "Watch out Jill, hubby is going to find out!!!" But some truth gets twisted, to look more politically correct.)
She underwent an abortion surgery in Issyk Ata district clinic (Kant, where Jill was found, Kant belongs to Issyk Ata district or county, whatever you like), and the doctor from clinic, who performed surgery, confirmed the information on television.

There was a testament of taxidriver, that Jill did a stopover near Special Surgical Clinic in Bishkek on the junction of Togolok-Moldo and Kievskaya streets. They have, by the way, English speaking medical staff, and medical facilities are relatively reasonable.
But why on the earth she went to Kant to make an abortion, to that below-any-standards rural clinic? How she could explain that she needed an abortion? No one speeaks English probably there. Or did she hire a translator? Why she was so desperate?
Why she did not do that in Special Surgical Clinic in Bishkek? The only reasonable explanation pops up in mind: that particular place is packed with foreigners, ex-pats, so on. Maybe she was afraid to get recognized.
Why she ruined her life and career in such a silly way? I dunno. She tried to hide her adultery and pregnancy from her husband. Now the whole world finds out. She is turned into laughing stock of the whole world.
She should've done this alltogether differ ently.
My guess is that Jill's true story will be kept low profile in the Western media from now on. It affects sensitive political and military matters.

I have been to Bishkek and when I got sick with diarriah, I got on a plane and went home. I wouldn't trust my dog in their medical facilities. There may be a handful of english speakers but they are few and far between.

I'm willing to believe the abortion story...but it might not be from an affair. If you were so career-minded...you might see this as a major hinderance. The fact that she married 10 days prior to the trip...and she might have been 4 months into this...which would have made it a absolute "no" in any western women's clinic...might explain why she was out of it for three days. A normal women's procedure (kind words to use)...would have taken three or four hours max. She would have simply had a "lost" epiosde in town, and came back to post a bit weak...but no worries. If she shows back up in the states...four months preg...the husband is happy and life goes on. I'm thinking that she really didn't have too many ways of fixing her issue and came to the conclusion that hospitals in Bishkek were safe enough. And as for cash...probably $500 would have easily made the doctor very accepting of a late-term episode.
Makes as much sense as the other hokey Third World newscast you posted.
