It also worked during the Battle of the Bulge when Patton had prayer to remove the overcast to help relieve the city of Bastogne and the 101st Airborne surrounded by the Germans. This happened and the US warplanes were able to pound the Nazis from the sky. They were put to rout and the it was a decisive blow to the Germans. They never mounted another offensive again.
