Men being men is a bad deal Guys should evolve beyond masculinity(3 bag barfer)
San Francisco Cronicle ^ | Sunday, October 8, 2006 | Robert Jensen

It's hard to be a man; hard to live up to the demands that come with the dominant conception of masculinity, of the tough guy.

This old ditty from Joe Jackson seems appropriate here:

Take your mind back
I don't know when
Sometime when it always seemed
To be just us and them
Girls that wore pink
Boys that wore blue
Boys that always grew up better men
Than me and you

What's a man now
What's a man mean
Is he rough or is he rugged
Cultural and clean?
Now it's all changed
It's got to change more
We think it's getting better
But nobody's really sure

And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are

See the nice boys
Dancing in pairs
Golden earring, golden tan
Blow-wave in the hair
Sure they're all straight
Straight as a line
All the guys are macho
See their leather shine

You don't want to sound dumb
Don't want to offend
So don't call me a faggot
Not unless you are a friend
Then if you're tall, handsome and strong
You can wear the uniform and I could play along

And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are

Time to get scared
Time to change plan
Don't know how to treat a lady
Don't know how to be a man
Time to admit
What you call defeat
'cause there's women running past you now
And you just drag your feet

Man makes a gun
Man goes to war
Man can kill and man can drink
And man can take a whore
Kill all the blacks
Kill all the reds
If there's war between the sexes
Then there will be no people left

And so it goes, go round again
But now and then we wonder who the real men are

From his bio....

"He also is involved in a number of activist groups working against U.S. military and economic domination of the rest of the world."

Nuff said....

Based on the article, do you think the author folds his panties, or just throws them in the drawer? I'm betting folds.

I don't know about that but I'll bet he sits down when he pees.

Mr.(?)Jensen,

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. May God have mercy on your soul.

This idiot Jensen subscribes to the "blank slate" psychological theory that humans are born an empty canvas on which every personality trait is painted by society.

Except for homosexuality, of course. Hypocrite.

He has too much time on his hands, can't do anything better with his education. Honestly in universities there are whole departments dedicated to spewing nothing but endless garbage about this that and the other. And they ALWAYS defend the worthless study at all expenses, including often at the expense of departments that are worthwhile.

It's a safe bet that most girls could beat this guy up.

Clearly the author is an imbecile. If he wants to see an example of the tenderness and gentle nature of masculinity, look at any conservative American man with his 6 year old daughter.

If he wants to see the rest of the nature of masculinity, try to harm that 6 year old daughter.

Even in this BJClintoon(spit) triangulates. POTUS43 is showing a bit of macho while the ImPOTUS is in suit and tie and uncalloused hands. The triangulation is from Hymie, not macho, not dirty but always a responsible leader. Thanks for extending the metaphore.

And, it's just that easy...

If the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy...

The author in a kind of moronic way has picked up on something important: traditional male attributes are currently seen as having rapidly diminishing value in society.

He started whining about DNA, and that's when I started ROFL. If the manly men are the only ones who have children, it doesn't matter how much he complains about "gender" or "sociobiology."
