Poland calls for severe punishment of Russian journalist's killers

WARSAW, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Polish foreign ministry on Sunday called for severe punishment of the killers of Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya, the PAP news agency reported.

"We hope Russia metes out severe punishment to Anna Politkovskaya's killers," Polish foreign ministry spokesman Andrzej Sados said in response to the slaying of Politkovskaya on Saturday in Moscow.

Politkovskaya, 48, a Russian investigative journalist known for her critical coverage of the war in Chechnya, was found dead on Saturday in the elevator of her Moscow apartment. She had two gunshot wounds, one to the head.

"We are deeply ... saddened by this shocking murder," Sados said, adding that Poland hopes Russia's judicial organs will find and severely punish those responsible for the killing.

If necessary, Putin will find a fall guy to take the rap.

President Bush can look in his "eyes" and see whatever he wants. I wouldn't trust putin any more then I'd trust Bill Clinton with my wife or niece.

I think it is most likely they'll find and kill a fall guy and say case closed. No trial. Hope to be surprised - but don't expect to be.

There's no way Putin and his fellow mafia thugs are going to be investigated.

I agree. I don't trust the old KGB officer a bit. He's done a lot to roll back progress and take away freedom in Russia.

[She wrote. . . Today's regime in Russia, as personified first and foremost by Putin, is interested only in power — to keep it, consolidate and augment it, and do it in such a way that opponents would not even be able to raise their heads]

. . .indeed and Amen to Anna Politkovskaya.

I had just been thinking of the common thread; of any means; justifying the end goals of those who share the underpinnings of a singular evil idiology; i.e. all variations of Leftist/totalitarian et als. . .including radical Islam'.

It surely fits what has been happening here at home. . .as we see how the hands of the 'Left' are beheading - figuratively speaking, of course - their Repub opposition as we approach Elections.
