The reason the the U.S.S. Bush is the last of the Nimitz class is that Northrop/Grumman is already building the follow-on to the Nimitz Class - its the new lead ship CVN-78...
Google "CVN 21 Program" you'll be happy.

FYI...the US has a 50 kiloton CONVENTIONAL bomb (the MOAB)...so this doesn't SOUND all that impressive...
The one irritating part of Free Republic is folks posting things that they believe to be true, but have no basis in reality. Just like your claim of "50 kilotons" for the MOAB - the GBU-43/B "Massive Ordnance Air Blast" bomb. Your judgement of the scale of a kilo-ton (TNT equivalent) explosion is a bit off...
The GBU-43/B contains around 9 tons of H-6 explosive filler. The H-6 explosive is 1.35 times as powerful as the same weight of TNT. This gives the GBU-43/B an explosive yield of 12.15 tons or 0.01215 kilo-tons. This would mean that it would take the concurrent detonation of 83 GBU-43/B MOABs to equal a ONE kiloton explosion. To achieve a 50 kilo-ton explosion would require around 4,150 MOABs.
Time for a real-world re-calibration...

Camden, New Jersey. Iowa is in San Fran Nan's backyard. Agree about the potential. Although POTUS is always cognizant of CVN locations, those three old dreadnaughts would look good off any coast.
Well, I hope so. You make a good point; I still just don't trust and of 'em. I greatly appreciate your confidence and enthusiasm and share in your obviously deep pride in our wonderful men and women who answer the call to duty.
I felt there were a lot more freepers with "clearances" than I ever imagined.
OK, I am guilty of passing on a 2002 Atlanta Urinal and Constipation Report of the test which reported that it was stronger than the blast over Hiroshima...

The money quote was:
The MOAB's massive explosive punch, sources say, is similar to a small nuclear weapon. And then there were reports of a classified 60 kt device...
Here's an interesting take on the NORK Nuke ...

LOL, I thought of having my 'missile' go in one ear and come out the other on him!
Endless possibilities
Yes there are
"Little Kim" is a caricature of himself
I think it's hysterical that both Hillary and Little Kim and Hugh Hefner buy their 24-hour pajamas at the same store
Now, HOW did you learn that? Were they there when you were buying yours??
That's good info. Anywhere online that I can back that up?
Thanks.
