ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands -- Former U.S. President Bill Clinton says he had plans in the early 1990s to attack and destroy North Korea's nuclear facilities after the secretive communist state was found to be producing weapons-grade plutonium.

At the time, he said, North Korea had plans to produce between six and eight nuclear weapons per year.

"We actually drew up plans to attack North Korea and to destroy their reactors and we told them we would attack unless they ended their nuclear program," Clinton told a security forum

If this is true, does anyone believe a Former PResident ought to be publicizing it? That and his claim to have "Contracted with others to kill Bin LadeN"

He sure had a lot of "plans".

Not sure this story is particularly good for us. Why didn't Bush bomb it when the Koreans said they were starting it back up?

Just like he "had plans" to kill Osama bin Laden, "had plans" to deal with Saddam Hussein, "had plans" to reform social security, "had plans" to stop drug tafficking, "had plans" to end poverty, "had plans" to bring about world peace...

He had all of these plans, but not much ever got done. Except him.

I guess his plans to "do" Monica took precedence.

"Clinton and Perry had the plan. Okinawa and US bases on the mainland of Japan, were getting into position."

Clinton had lots of plans, he never acted on any except those that benefitted him directly. Like Monica.

Sure he did.

He had plans to cure AIDS.
He had plans to end world hunger.
He had plans to cure cancer.
He had plans for everything.

More BS from the Clintoons.

"Man, he had all kinds of PLANS, didn't he?"

I'm not sure what kind of plan he had .. but I do remember things being really heated at the time .. The news at the time was claiming a show down between Clinton and North Korea ...

That is till Carter supposable went behind Clinton's back and made a deal with North Korea

Though news at the time said Clinton was ticked at Carter ...IMO .. I think Clinton was VERY happy at what Carter did

JUDY WOODRUFF: .... Are you absolutely persuaded that the North Koreans are going to honor this agreement, that while the talks are going on that it's not just a matter of buying time on the part of the North Koreans, that they will not secretly pursue the program they were pursuing earlier, nuclear program?

JIMMY CARTER: Judy, I'm convinced. But I said this when I got back from North Korea, and people said that I was naive or gullible and so forth. I don't think I was. In my opinion, this was one of those perfect agreements where both sides won and got what they wanted and there were no-nobody blinked, nobody had to yield.... I think the most important lesson is that we should not ever avoid direct talks, direct conversations, direct discussions and negotiations with the main person in a despised or misunderstood or condemned society who could actually resolve the issue. And we went through this for ten years when nobody in our government would meet or talk to Yasir Arafat. The Norwegians did, and they were the ones that brought the peace agreement last summer....

Now I know where Kerry got his expression for his "plans" to ... better than the Republicans... blah, blah, blah.

Sigh. According to Clinton, he had a plan for everything.

And action on nothing. If anything that is even more condemnable than ignoring things all together.

A war was expected at any time. It was expected to be nuclear and last about three weeks. Probably most people in the US say 'no way', but it was coming close. Clinton or no Clinton.

Yes, he did have a plan to take out Kim Il Sung's nuclear capability. Just like he had a plan to take out Osama bin Laden.

In each case, he couldn't bring himself to pull the trigger. He was worried about how his poll numbers would look.
